If you are anything like me you want huge POWER & huge TORQUE!
Here we have a system that offers both & fits almost all bikes available....48v 1000w (2000+w peak) is beyond what i could have thought possible for a bicycle.
I mean 70kph is fast! and this ebike has the motor hooked upto the bikes chain and the rear 8 gears so the TORQUE is amazing at the least
i have tried many 1000w hub motors and nothing has come even close to this ebike kit!
the closest was a 60v 1800w hub which cost over $2500 to build and it was still not there

actually, 70Kph is about 32mph
Sorry, but 70kph is 43.4 mph
And that Cyclone mid-drive isn't going anything close to that for long.

My guess is that this bike is super fast because of the gears. My direct drive front hub will only do about 30 mph with 48 volts lithium It is gearless. Still 30 is very fast for me.
My point is that it's possible to go 43 mph with 48v, but you would definitely need gear shifts.
ah. what the crap have i been thinkin. for some reason i'm thinking 2.2km per mile....but now that i think about it using common sense rather than conversion ratios (which of the numbers i screwed up) it seems more logical. lol. i can't remember what i used 2.2:1 was for....i know it's 2.54cm:1inch.....can't remember what 2.2 was for though....don't know why i thought it was for that. Lol.
Anyways. That's fast as hell for an ebike from what I've read. I just bought a 48v 1000w kit but haven't installed it yet....still gotta buy a bike (but haven't had a ride to Wal-Mar). Mine is a YXM kit off e-bay. 20AH battery. Only problem I have is connecting the battery wires up to the controller port. The battery has standard red and black wires....but I need to connect them to brown and blue...but I don't know which is which for the brown and blue. I'll figure it out.

I have an Aotema brushless sensorless 26" front wheel kit. It will do 30 mph with 48v lifepo.
40 mph is just too much. Too many bumps, potholes traffic, turns etc. 30 is scary dangerous and I only do it for a 5 or 10 seconds. usually cruise at 25 or so. with 36 volts I do about 23 tops.
Anyways, this 40 mph kit looks complicated to install. the power seems to go through the pedal sprocket and you change rear gears to go faster. That's my impression.
I certainly hope you're kidding about a ride to Wally World for a bike. There is nothing in their inventory that would qualify as a mule for a high speed vehicle. Come to think of it, there's not much in their bicycle inventory that qualifies as a serviceable bicycle at bike speeds. I would tend to agree that Walmart is not a place for buying a bike that will be retrofitted. You can buy a better bike off craigs list. If it's a front hub motor, you should use steel forks.
My bike is a Raleigh 26" with 7 speed, not necesarily above the Walmart bikes and it is fast enough.
Aluminum with steel forks. weight (without kit or batts) is about 30 Lbs.
