My Vectrix died today while I was riding home. I was going along nicely and noticed that the bike wouldn't accelerate. As I was pulling over and coming to a stop the electrical system just shut down. When I put the key in and turn it, nothing happens...the bike remains completely off. There were no strange noises or other symptoms. Any thoughts on what the problem the might be?
Thanks,
-Ron
Ron,
If you have no lights on the instrument cluster then it will be the main fuse.
If you have read this forum you will see it is possible to change yourself but you
will need some specialist tools. Battery current inrush limiter is a must.
The bike needs to come apart, remove the rear battery pack, remove the motor controller
Cover and then you can change the fuse.
You should fit the updated fuse 200amp. Not 125amp as standard.
If you are near London UK, I can provide the service or Doug Towley ex Vectrix can do the same.

Kiwiboy
Thanks, that helps. Unfortunately I live in Dublin, California and I'm guessing the tow service to London would be a little pricey. :) Guess it's time to start taking the bike apart and learning a bit more about how this is all put together.

Someone here should give you contact information of Dana DeCosta, who takes care of US Vectrixs.
This is the fuse you need:

cheapest one I could find on ebay
the fuse code is FWX200

Thanks. Turns out the dealer that I bought my bike from (Scuderia West in SF) does service Vectrix bikes. I ordered the fuse from eBay and will probably have them install it. I've gotten so used to using my Vectrix for all my in-town errands that I feel kind of naked without it! The idea of driving around in a gas-powered vehicle for these trips just feels strange. I'm looking forward to getting my bike back!

I'm having my rear tyre replaced and missing it too! fortunately it will take one day, hope to ride it tomorrow!;-)
