Re: Lifespan / mileage of original first Vectrix Battery
My VX-1 ('07) has about 16,000km on it (10,000 miles). I'm still riding it every day, but clearly there are some dead cells, as the range has dropped to about 20 miles per charge (and that is riding conservatively).
I've ordered the Li-ion cells from Falcon EV (CHL 50 AH), so I won't know how many more miles I could have put on it.
I'm just waiting for the cells and the conversion kit!
Re: Lifespan / mileage of original first Vectrix Battery
Sept. '07 VX-1, also 16.000 km.
Range between 35 and 45 km depending on speed.
Battery temperature around 5 to 10C above ambient after riding or charging.
Voltage at the start of my daily commute between 141 and 143V (approx 3 hours after charging).
Re: Lifespan / mileage of original first Vectrix Battery
May. '07 VX-1, 33.500 km. 6.500km with the last battery, replaced around oct 2010
Range between 45 and 65 km.
With a life expectancy of 10.000-15.000 km per pack, my battery will be screwed around the beginning of 2012.
Re: Lifespan / mileage of original first Vectrix Battery
4790 miles or about 7708 kilometers on 1st pack.
Purchased Aug 09 as an 2008 model with the new software installed from dealership before purchase.
I am still getting up to around 35 miles per charge with speeds up to 55 mph. I only give it a full discharge when absolutely necessary, so maybe once per month. This is my every day driver to work and errands around town.
The bike is still going strong with not one single problem to date. Fingers crossed it will last me another 5K miles and at that time I hope the LI conversion kits are avialable at a reasonable price.
I really enjoy riding this bike, so trading it for another would probably be out of the question unless it is not economical to replace the batteries. If only it had more range.....
Re: Lifespan / mileage of original first Vectrix Battery
My Sept 2008 registered Vectrix (Oct 2007 build) has now covered over 13,000 miles (21,000km) on the original battery.
Daily commute normally involves using 3/4 or more of a charge at speeds of up to 55-60mph constant with short bursts of 65-70mph. About 1/3 is town riding at 30-40mph, the remainder is fast A-roads.
Use regen braking most of the time. Almost always fully recharge (all stages) and run to the red light about once a month. Not noticed any drop in range. Latest software with the 110km/h upgrade.
Re: Lifespan / mileage of original first Vectrix Battery
I had new batteries fitted under warranty on my 2007 V, it had done just under 3000 miles at that point. I've added 8000 more miles since then, but I'm down to about 30 miles range now.
Re: Lifespan / mileage of original first Vectrix Battery
Hi All,
I've bought mine in march 2009 and I've done 30240 km,
the range recently tested (I could not recharge @ destination) was 78 km
regards
ps I'll post a pic of the meter if I get a chance

may 2007 vx1
40000km with last battery
range 45-65km
Wow thats a massive amount in comparison to most on here... what are you doing differently ?
Wow, very impressive!
I think the key is to run multiple charges/discharges per day on generally flat terrain with light loads.

Great, that's the best I've heard so far (for a battery exposed to the earlier software versions).
