As a seller can you give more details on the XB-300li and XB-700li especially the specifications, prices, and warranty length? I was considering the XM-3500li but $4500 is well out of my price range, but I am looking forward to reading user reviews.
I have my doubts about the top speed listed as 60-63 mph. The video posted to this thread indicates that it may be close if the speedometer is accurate, which is a big if. 13” full rim motor scooter
Has mountain chen said anything about the 2-speed transmission? It's odd that they are claiming an automatic 2-speed transmission. Maybe this is just a marketing ploy so it doesn't look inferior to the XM-3000.

BTW, don't count on the 75 mile range unless you are pushing it a good portion of that, or riding 15 mph. I would expect a range closer toward what fun-ev claims on their site for the e-fun D, if not considerably lower because of the higher top speed: fun-ev.com
Max range: 30 miles at 40 mph, 25 miles at 45 mph, 20 miles at top speed.

Yeah, it would be nice if they were more forthcoming about real-world performance. They should qualify the range claim with what speed it can be achieved at. Some buyers may commute on the highway, so the range at 60mph is important. I would also like to see an acceleration spec. This bike is motorcycle, so they ought to show specs that a motorcycle buyer wants to see. The XM-3500Li has a larger motor than the E-FunD, so their performance characteristics will be different.
If you click to add anything to your cart from x-tremescooters.com, it takes you to another site. And from there click on the products link at top, and that takes you to a page with the XM-3500Li listed for $3,999.00.
Clicking on the XM-3500Li link from there it has some more information new to me:
has a top speed of 55 MPH & can travel up to 75 miles on a single charge. (We tested it to 63 MPH but will have it tuned down to 55 MPH to conserve the power supply
Order now & get the pre-order discount. ETA is the middle of July, 2008. After the shipment arrives the actual MSRP will become the selling price

Hmmm - I just love it when I find out about a product I'm waiting to start selling from this forum rather than direct from X-Treme - I'll be contacting X-Treme later today...
As far as I know $3999 is NOT a pre-order discount, it is the minimum allowable price as set by the importer. So, while the site Andrew mentions might increase the price I plan on selling at $3999 (plus $50 shipping delivered to your door).
One other thing to note on that page is:
The XM-3500Li comes standard with a 2 year battery warranty & 1 year on the rear hub motor
I need to find out more about the details of the battery warranty - but it's a very encouraging sign that a bike in this price range has a 2 year battery warranty.
Note:If you're on my mailing list waiting to buy an XM-3500Li then two things (1) If you want to pre-order then please contact me and I'll set up a pre-order for you (same price) & (2) I still plan on putting the XM-3500Li through some "real world" testing and posting the results, so personally I still suggest you wait before buying.
Note:If you're not on my mailing list - shame on you! Join right now! ;-)

I agree in general that the quoted figures for the XM-3500Li are "optimistic" in the extreme (pun intended). However, I think the figures you quote for the E-Fun D are misleading in that they are for a different bike with a different controller and I believe they are for the SLA batteries - not the LiFe batteries.
My "WAG" at the moment is a 40 mile range for a drive cycle of half city (speeds in the 30mph to 40mph range) and half country (speeds in the 40mph to 55mph range). With a top speed of 55mph I wouldn't take this bike on the freeway. Note, that this is a guess at the moment - real world figures will come soon after I get my hands on one!

OK - I stand corrected. The MSRP price on both bikes seems to have unfortunately risen to $2499 for the XM-3000 and $4499 for the XM-3500Li. However, the MAP is still listed at the lower price - I need to investigate this some more...

Yeah I noticed the increase in price for the xm3000 recently. It makes me less anxious to think about getting one. After getting a BattEQ and a windshield I will have spent 3k. That puts me into a different tier altogether.
The pre-order on the XM-3000 is at $2,000 from the x-treme website. But, I would be wary of buying any electric scooter china without product reviews. At this point, we have no way of knowing for sure if this isn't another Z20, or emax. I'm not attacking xtreme by saying this, and I know the XM-2000 wasn't nearly as bad as the Z20.
I'm just saying to know the risk if deciding to go with the pre-order, and definitely check the fine print to see if you can reasonably get a full refund or most of your money back.

I just saw the XM-3500LI yesterday at my dealers. I helped put it together. Comes with the front wheel removed.
It has the same two speed switch next to the throttle that the early Zapino has. On the Zapino, the low position adds resistance to the throttle voltage back to the controller, thereby limiting top speed and fast acceration.
I didn't get a chance to drive it so cannot give you any more info. The wheels look good, 13" as advertised.
...on the topic if lifepo and XBs, does anyone know if I could get a replacement battery for my XB-600 that would be a LiFePO? If so, where? Part of the reason is that I am in an apartment, and the scooter doesn't make it up the stairs so well, thus, I must carry my battery pack up to get charged.
Seems like an alright place to ask this. What does everyone think about the weather capabilities of something like the xm3500? I've been thinking about buying one, but if I did I would want to use it in all conditions, including some of our harsh rain.
I just have a feeling it couldn't stand up to that kind of treatment for years. Even though our rainy season is for a couple months out of the year.
Right now is kind of a bad time to get a lifepo4 pack. Ping (who had quality batteries at the best price) is out of cells and has told people he may not be shipping batteries until after the olympics. Most of the others sellers are also on short supply = higher prices. Shipping from China has gotten much more expensive, as they need to go UPS because the post office won't take them with the Olympics coming up. That's right, they do kind of look like a bomb.
I am hoping by later this Summer, more batteries will be on the market and the price will go down again to where it was a few months ago.

Are you sure it was an X-Treme XM-3500 Li? As far as I know they aren't even in the country yet (I'm not saying that it's not possible - but I'd be surprised if it was).
Perhaps what you worked on was the similar E-Fun D Lithium based bike? Or, one of Mountain Chen's direct sales of the Paladin/VK-2008 (which wouldn't be branded XM-3500Li)?
Did the bike you see actually have the X-Treme "flame" logos on it?

Actually had another logo on it, but it is the 3500LI. the key is the 13" wheels.
At least that is what the customer ordered and had shipped to the dealer.
OK, so to be more exact it is the Paladin which is Mountain Chen's factory name for the bike X-Treme is buying and selling as the XM-3500Li. Same bike, different name. You had me wondering there for a moment!
Any chance of a review soon?

just received today my VERDE VK2008 from chen no paper work for title ! MAYBE IT IS COMING IN THE MAIL ????? I will keep ya al informed and the answer is YES LaTeR
You ask about the XB-300Li, but then there are no comments. Is there any information on this electric bike? Like price, availability, or specs. I know the X-Treme web site has no info but maybe a dealer has more. It looks interesting.
I have one! It is an excellent bike, and does the job I have for it (a 23 mile commute). The 3500 was discontinued, so if you get a new one, I believe the smallest one you can get is 4000W
I have an XM-3500li, and mine is over 2 years old. My batteries are perfectly fine, as well as the motor, It had a little rough life before I got it (paid $800 used for it) but the LifePo batteries are very tough and resilient. I commute 23 miles each way with it, and I can definitely run it wide open that distance. I have not tried it both ways without charging, which I think would be pushing my luck. Holler if you want any more info.
No need to argue that my mileage is low, but the age of the batteries is a factor as well. I got the bike with 1,900km a month ago, as I said before, that the miles are climbing. I will also mention that this is the same bike that had a wiring issue, and I am the guy who fixed it. You are right, my miles (KM) does not prove anything, but what has been proven is that the batteries do not decay like lead acid batteries do. Hey, no one was talking about the 3500LI, so someone needs to start, right?
Anyway, I would have figured that because I am riding the bike for a 23 mile commute, someone would ask things like what the battery reading is after the trip, or does it run slower when the batteries go down a bit, etc.
I have a 2008 3500Li with just over 5000 km which is really 2500 miles. Original battery with two cells added when new. Always charged using original charger modified to charge 22 cells to about 80 volts at cut off point. I use the cell charge balancer built by the original owner who posted here allot under the name eped when the scoot was new. I get 30 miles ( GPS ) before the voltage starts to drop off, same as when I bought it last summer with 400 miles on it.It tops out in the summer at 45 mph and in the winter at 43 confirmed with GPS.
I have had one of the motor bearings go out ( very noisy) and replaced them both for $6 each bought at local bearing supply. Front caliper leaking and just replaced for $30 from local scooter shop. Everything else ok. It's a cheap scooter but if you can accept that, it actually works pretty well and has good acceleration.
As a seller can you give more details on the XB-300li and XB-700li especially the specifications, prices, and warranty length? I was considering the XM-3500li but $4500 is well out of my price range, but I am looking forward to reading user reviews.
AF I sent you two emails asking about the 700li...if you had more info and don't recall getting a reply back. I'd like to know more about that scoot!
