Not yet, the manufacturer has problems finding a suitable BMS since their old supplier stopped delivering when they changed battery brand.
The scooter will be shipped next week without BMS, they will send it by air mail later when they find a good system.

So still 5-6 weeks from next week....

We suggestion you to use 30cell of 50AH battery which is more stable. 50AH impedance low to 0.18m

100AH will come out next month, but the beginning would be not stable

Re: Cell impedance of Thundersky and CHL lithium battery

if you want to use a 48V (nominal) Lithium , you should use 16 cell and not 15 , is much easier to find BMS if you use standard cell count

Different C discharged curve come out,I think this is first battery from China who can bear 6C constant discharged.

CHL, what is your company's relation with Mujin Chen's ZAP-Erider Business? Are you next-door neighbors? In any case you are colaborating very closely :-)

Yes,we are in the same building,Mr Mountain chen have so many years experience in TS and GBS batteries, which give us a lot of advantage to be quick start !

Erider Company start to use CHL batteries instead of GBS and TS batteries, which have proved our quality and performance.

Re: Cell impedance of Thundersky and CHL lithium battery

Thanks for the clarification!
What really interests me (concerning quality and performance) is if you have done sufficiently numerous charge/discharge cycle tests at varying temperatures and currents and cell pack sizes to be able to back up your longevity claims? And I cannot a see a single improvement from the (electro-)mechanical point of view over the design of Winston cells. Nothing to improve packing and stacking, only the same single-point battery pole fixings, no lid to safeguard from dirt and especially water spray ingress from above, all those improvments that the likes of GBS/ElitePowersolutions have implemented are completely lacking from your cell design. Your only (and VERY important!) proven claim of improvement over other Lithium-based cell manufacturers is the very small impedance. This is a very serious step forward, but it will only be of lasting value to your (and Mujin Chen's) customers if your products actually live long enough to pay for themsleves.

To be very honest, I am rather p1ssed off by the fact that I have GBS cells on board that I know by now will make me suffer greatly in my winter driving, as I ride my scooter to work and back every working day of the year, and that includes ambient temperatures down to -15°C at times, and snow I have to be able to ply through. I am rather certain that with your cells I would be far better off in the colder winter weather... (plus I could convert my Thunder to the 8kW Sevcon variant :-)

Re: Cell impedance of Thundersky and CHL lithium battery

Of course we have a lot of testing here, we spent much more money on expensive materials and automatically machine than GBS and TS because we are focus on supply battery to Kinglong E-bus which require for 6C constant discharged, we don't want competition on prices.

This is Good!!

I have now had my eRider 8000w Scooter for 3 weeks now with 72v 50Ah CHL cells. I have experienced Thundersky batteries first hand and I have now travelled 1000km on 2 different scooters with thundersky and CHL cells

Scooter with Thundersky 40Ah LifePo4:
************************************
Fully charged would be around 87.2v. During the cold days (10°c) the scooter had very little power and I could only get at most, 22Ah out of the 40Ah cells before they would hit the low voltage limit of 66v. Even fresh off the charger, on a warm day with 8000w of power the voltage would sag to 68v!!!. Long story (already posted) I replaced 12 cells and more just kept dying. Rubbish cells, or I was just unlucky?

Scooter with CHL 50Ah LiFePo4:
******************************
Wow!! That is how I would describe these batteries!! Fresh off the charger they consistantly peak at 87.6v and even with 8400w load the voltage only drops to 76v!!! I have NEVER seen lithium like this. My scooter currently doesn't have a BMS so I'm not willing to take it to 50Ah, but after 45Ah of discharge (5Ah left) under 8000w of "sporty" riding these cells still only sag to 70.9v! Only when I got home after 46Ah did the voltage sag to 69.9v under full power and recovered to 77.9v with no load. I have now done 1077km of riding in the last week or so on my scooter and these cells are GOLD! The scooter is just like a mobile phone, when it's flat, plug it in and it'll be full again in the morning.

I now have 21 cycles on the CHL batteries and after every charge, I notice that an extra 0.25Ah or 0.3Ah extra has been going into the batteries. That doesn't sound like much, but after 0.2Ah x 20 = 4Ah extra. thats about 6km more range. This morning was the first time EVER my cycle analyst read 0.00Ah which means the battery may reached it's maximum capacity.

I even rode the scooter on a cold night (2°c) and the performance was exactly the same as a warm day. This is a testimony to the great low impedance of these CHL cells. I was so happy when I found out my new scooter had CHL cells!

To CHL Lithium Battery, However you're making these batteries, keep it up because the world needs good quality (and affordable) batteries to drive our future electric vehicles.

BIG THUMBS UP to CHL batteries.

1 happy customer here :)

And one disgruntled GBS customer here :-( Between 20 and 7°C I already lost about 15km/h max speed, i.e. real 70 instead of 85...86km/h. Not fun when riding on my two 3km-stretches of 100km/h country road with the cars stacking up behind me like in the old 50cc/50km/h days... If I had the cash I would most probably have those GBS40Ah cells thrown out and replaced with CHL, but alas, no such cash is currently available...
At least I have the right controller on board now - I guess you just can't have EVERYTHING going your way.

Yes,high impedance kill the top speed by heavy drop voltage. Here is the impedance of GBS

yes,our battery will be more active and increase capacity at first 20 cycles, see attached 1C charged and discharged testing data

CHL battery is produced for E-bus (at least 6C constant discharged needed),instead of E-scooter. so that we use the best materials than TS and GBS

Well I can't wait to get that active BMS on my scooter to protect the batteries just in case I am a little too far from home one day.

If the active BMS is as good as your batteries, I'm happy to wait. Yes, I hope there is some kind of LCD display.

Will the BMS include a way to change settings or is it totally automatic?

And one disgruntled GBS customer here :-( Between 20 and 7°C I already lost about 15km/h max speed, i.e. real 70 instead of 85...86km/h.

What?!

My scooter was supposed to have the GBS Motorsport batteries and BMS but this was changed at the last minute to go with PDT with CHL batteries and BMS (coming soon).

On flat ground to south Canberra in the 100km/h zone I can consistantly keep a speed of 100-105km/h (85-94km/h real speed) and my wife can even overtake me at these speeds on her scooter, but she is much lighter than me. Although there is a large hill on the 90km/h zone and I slow down to 90 (77km/h real speed) where amanda can easily overtake me UPHILL. So I think I better start riding my scooter to the gym if I want more speed :-)

I rode into work as hard and as fast as I could. 6.2Km and I burnt 5.6Ah! and the Vmin on the cycle analyst read 75.8v. Unreal! CHL cells don't seem to drop under 70v until around 46Ah have been used.
