charger won´t wake up when connected to grid

Hi there,
this week my charger gave up somehow. I´wanted to mak a short charge during the winterstorage, but nothing hapened
when I connected the Bike to the grid. The plugs do work (measured) the bike can be started with the key. Est-range
does not work, left brake (Voltage and temp do work. I can´t test if the battery-gauge behaves as a voltmeter during
driving because I won´t ride it in Winter (salt and ice...) nothing happens if the bike is turned on and connected
to the grid. Only thing you can hear (bike turned on and off- in both cases) is a relay clicing two times first click
when pluged in 2nd after 0,5 sec. Mainvoltage is around 134 V.
Had anyone this experience yet? My bike hibernates at a storage at work, so I cant open it yet and pull the plugs of
the charger as I´m on vacation untill thuresday.

Greetins Mike

Mainvoltage is around 134 V.

the battery is ok.

Est-rangevdoes not work,

So your bike has lost communication with the charger. Two brief ideas:
1- the charger is a computer, and maybe it has "frozen" like a windows Xp.
To restart it, unplug the lower waterproof box connectors, and after some seconds, plug them in again.
Test if the charger works again. If it does not work,
2-the charger may have some damage. repair-replacement?
Good luck!

Hi.
Finaly I had the time today to open the Bike and take a look where the contacts of the charger are.

Good knews after releasing and repluging some seconds later, the charger was on duty again. The connectors
can be released without dismantling the front but, I think it´s saver to see what you do.

+ releasing the screws of the windshield.
+ removing the the small black covers left and right from the Headlight.
+ removing the black cover to have a looek behind the dashboard.
+ removing the 4 white clamps holding the reflector, it can be removed
upwards without removing the turnsignals (not very much space but it
works.
+ I released the two plugs (marked in the green ring) and pluged them in
after some seconds. I pluged in the bike and the charger started to
work again. ;-))
+ Bringing back the headlight to it´s place and fixing it with the 4 white
clamps
+ Bringing back the black dashboardcover
+ screwing back the two small covers left and right
+ Finaly bringing back the windshield.

Greetings Mike

Re: charger won´t wake up when connected to grid

My range meter was giving some weird information for a few days and then, the charger refused to work upon connection to mains.

I did the charger disconnection trick and everything is now back to normal.

Thanks for the tip!
