Seat's cable replacement

Recently my seat's cable got completely stuck. I was unable to open the seat compartment with the key-switch!And inside the trunk there was the helmet... annoying situation... ;-)
After a close inspection at home, I found out that the cable was quite rusty and nearly broken: To my astonishment, water from rain manages to get inside the cable!

I had to dismantle half vectrix to reach the key-switch.

Taking into account that some water will be able to get again inside the mechanism, I decided to use bicycle technology to replace the damaged item, because they perform far better under long term, wet conditions.

Some small modifications were required to fit the new cable inside the key-switch...

A vectrix completelly unpanelled... mmm! this is a good chance to make some improvements!
First, I protected the temp-board connector with a plastic bag.

Secondly, I installed a hazard lights system, following sensei Mik's advices...

Two switchs, one for the hazard sytem, another to kill the dammed beeps of the horn ;-)
Sure, placing them inside the globebox is not intelligent at all, but it is quite waterproof, and what's more, I din't want to install anything on the external surface of the vectrix panels. In my opinion, this is a clean solution.

And voilà! It works!

A small video of the successful improvement:

Re: Seat's cable replacement

Uoh...
Very curious: if I turn on any side light, and then activate the new hazard button, both side lights start to blink like a disco: Have a look at the video!
