Conversation of 1996 Honda Magna

Hello,
I have just started researching converting my motorcycle a Honda Magna 750. I do not have a time line for my project but have been taken in a wealth of information and just figuring out where to start. Once I get started I will try and keep this updated with pictures and information for the project.

I should add that my goal for the project is for a top speed of 70mph and a minimum distance of 35 miles. This would get me back and forth from work but I will like more distance to be able to run small errands and just to ride. The bike wet weights 539lbs I believe and I was looking at trying to install a 96 volt system.

AC or DC ??

Lithium or Lead??

What books have you found?

I am thinking DC not sure on batteries. Will come down to cost. I have been looking into agm batteries. I like that you can mount in any orientation. I will probably use the batteries in series. I have been reading about doing both series and parallel together. Maybe do a lower voltage but higher ah. It seems from everything that I have been reading trying to cruise at 65 mph and getting 35 miles on a charge is not going to be easy.

I have read How to build an Electric Motorcycle by Carl Vogel and How to build an electric vehicle by Bob Brant.

I have been surfing this site and the web overall for information.

So far in my researching I think I have found a motor to use. I am looking at Advance DC K91-4003 which is a 48 - 96v motor. Depending on money a space I might start with a 72v system. I found an AGM battery that I think fits my needs. It is a 12v 55ah at a cost of $146.65. I am currently trying to find out how much it weighs.
