I need help. I recently purchased and received a little frog style battery from China. I live in California. The battery worked great for about three weeks. Unfortunately the internal wiring for the charger port disconnected. I opened the case to look at the damage and was shocked at the horrible welding job done on the connection. There were loose screws and a nut rolling around in the case. The positive connection was completely disconnected from the port and it looks as if the battery has only been charging through the negative connection for I don't know how long. When I moved the negative to properly assess the damage, the connection completely severed. I do not know how to rewire the wires back to the port. I need any ideas for an alternate form of connection preferably one that doesn't require soldering. The irony in this situation is that I had another battery but I sold it to a buddy with another kit a week before this happened. I was thinking I could make my own connection by cutting and splicing a connector to the battery and then do the same with the charger. Please help. Thank you.

I had to Google "frog style battery" but now I get the idea. If this is one battery, then yes, all you have to do is get a good quality connector and connect the two wires from the battery to one end and the corresponding (same polarity!) wires from the charger to the other. If this is more than one battery (as it would be if anything more than 12 volts) then it gets somewhat trickier. If there is a temp sensor it gets trickier still. More info and maybe a photo are needed.
The battery pack is 39v 8ah. I forgot to mention that in my previous post. I didn't see any sensor in the pack itself but I'm not sure about the charger. I'd have to cut the connection off of the charger and then test the wires to determine which one was positive and negative. Just to make sure we're on the same page about the battery, it slides into a mount that clamps on to the seat post. It's small and black.
If you have only two wires coming from the pack and two from the charger (serial charging configuration), it's a simple splice. I was thinking you might have multiple wires for parallel charging and maybe a sensor. And yes, I saw a photo of this type pack.
Actually I looked at the output on my charger and it seems to only have a single wire for output. I was thinking of cutting it off to check and see if there were two smaller wires in the insulation and I'd make sure to leave enough length so that I could reattach it. My other option would be to buy another charger and then make my splice connection. In this area I would need some information on an applicable charger. I'm not too concerned about a fast charger. I'm more interested in a reasonable price with fair quality. Electric bikes are expensive especially when you're on an unemployment budget. Another problem is that the pack is still about halfway charged. Would I be able to make my splice connection without zapping the shit out of myself? I know if the wires cross I'll have a problem. I was thinking of using the two prong male to female white connector that is normally used to plug the battery into the controller. Will this work or could someone recommend a different connector? My choices are internet, Home Depot and Radio Shack. Thanks.
