Finding charging locations

Please list online sites here that you use to locate places to charge your EV.

Here are some that have been useful to me:

Carstations.com
Mychargepoint.net
Maps.google.com (zoom into your area and then search on 'electric charging station')
Local EV Club site; for me that's DEVC.info

Apple's ITunes app store has others

Walgreens claims to be installing charging points; one near me is supposed to be avail in Feb.

Re: Finding charging locations

Hmm... went to the neighborhood Walgreens and they have the power line ready to go, all they are waiting on is the charging station equipment. They expect to have the station running by end of November. Looks like Walgreens really is serious on rolling out the charging stations.

Re: Finding charging locations

I just checked out Plugshare.com, and added my front porch outlet as a "Home Charging Station." I was initially pleased to see another home station within reach and almost on my way to Saratoga Springs NY, but on further inspection it is identified as Hudson Valley Community College, which is in another direction entirely, and even farther away. They also have a home station "at" Green Island NY that is actually in Columbus Ohio. I suspect that they are using ZIP codes to identify cities, and are being plagued by typos, bad software, or both. I have contacted them about this via email. I *hate* being an early adopter...

Re: Finding charging locations

Thanks for adding plugshare.com. That's probably the best site for my area!

Re: Finding charging locations

all those websites have a sense if they are updated regularly, easy said than done, how do you update?
You go there and cheack if there is power?
Much more sense would be if EV/ebike riders from all parts of USA/Canada/Europe just tell us here if there are live recepticle in their area.
Here Alberta, CANADA is a heven for electric anything, live plug in , recepticles all of the place, 80% 0r more ALWAYS live.
So I guerilla charge very often, never been said go away.
My favourite are schools and government offices parking lots, I PAY TAXES so it is not stealing.
Differnt story is another part of Canada British Columbia-hard to find live one.

Re: Finding charging locations

The update of www.laad.nl is done by a couple off online real time servers located at the owners of the charging points . In some case this will be at every change and on some servers each 15 minutes
When the owner of some chargepoints doesn't have the so could API server we don't give the information off cause

Re: Finding charging locations

Dragging up an old thread to make a plug (ha ha) for PlugShare and ChargePoint.

I found myself at an event 12 or so miles from home this evening and, with the dying state of my Vectrix's battery pack, I was pretty sure I wasn't getting all the way back home. After a bit of googling I found PlugShare, which led me to a ChargePoint station a couple of blocks away. I didn't have a ChargePoint card, but I called the number on the charging station and they unlocked it remotely. Plugged in, went off to the thing I was late for, came back a couple of hours later and home I went :)

The PlugShare app looks pretty useful - next time I'll plan ahead ...!!!
