Charger Chronology

Good evening all,
A quick question - I have a friend coming over tomorrow and I was planning to install the Lairds new software on his bike. However I'm not sure what charger he has and nor do I know how to tell the difference. His bike, I think, is a 2008?

I understand that the later charger will not work with The Lairds new softare?

I understand that Vectrix's were built in 3 waves - what chargers were in what waves? Does anybody know? I could not find anything specific on the site...

Thank,

Jonathan

If its a 2008, you probably have the old ESD charger (IIRC, the new EVPS charger wasn't used until 2010?)

Easy way to check is to look at the actual charger,

the ESD (old) one is silver

the EVPS (new) one is gold

Re: Charger Chronology

Well I was wrong with when the bike was made. It was made in Nov 2009 No.2841. It was fitted with what looked like a gold charger. It had charger software version Rev 3004. I was under the impression that initial software had to be BCR 3001 to be able to accept the Lairds new software...
I guess there is nothing to do?

Thanks,

Jonathan
