Can I charge the batteries while running the Accessarys.? They are only a few amps.
It may be possible, but I would not recommend it. Because just a few amps can drop the voltage a little and you could run the risk of overcharging because the charger is waiting for the voltage to hit 87.6v.

This is 60V active BMS for 19 cell LFP battery
When you make the 72v 150A BMS, will it count the Ah used or just protect the cells by monitoring the voltage?
Because if it counts the Ah used, it would be possible to limit the output current to say 60A as a "limp home mode".
Either way, it's looking very nice and I see it runs on windows. Do you have software for apple mac? If not doesn't matter because I have windows on the mac as well.
Are you able to show us what the modules across each cell look like?

Yes,Hipower impedance is low enough , but the problem is that their impedance are very different between cells,you can see that this testing 40AH cell even lower impedance than 50AH cell,this is very abnormality !
Because Hipower have many hand made procedure during production !

Yes,Hipower keep sending me samples since 2006,every 2-3 years they change idea into steel shell to be plastic shell, water-solubility change into oil-solubility .... etc.
I think they never know what they should do,they don't have clear direction at all.

That's some good news CHL! Just don't send us computer screen shots again, show us what the BMS modules and the main board look like. Now I have a 400w DC/DC converter in my scooter for my HID headlights, I need to know how much room I'll need to jam in this BMS.

Today I passed 3500km with no battery problems at all!! That's about 5000km between our 2 scooters in 2 months.

Looking good CHL. I wish there was a way to connect the Remaining Ah into a digital "fuel gauge" as that would be very accurate!!
Looking good though. I have a little laptop to run this too. But honestly I just want to install it to protect my batteries and to never touch it again.

looking in this forum, i read that a chl 40ah cell has a dimension of 180 115 47 with a weight of 1,5 kg, it mean for me that if i want a pack of 110 v and 40 ah , i need a weight of 45 kg and a block of 470 x 345 x 180 mm
in france a kokam pack of 111v 40ah. has the following dimensions, 35 kg 350 x 330 x 220 mm. (3 x 10)
the question is for CHL,
1) why is there this difference
2) if we had to exchange theold thundersky batteries from the 2008 erider scooters, and use the chl ones, after modification of charger,controller,trafo, what could be a good chl battery pack

i understand that a softpack is probably not ideal for scooters, but could CHL produce a standardised unique block with 72 or 108 volts if necessary, or your line is fixed on the classical cells 3,6 volts ?

:) :) well Kokam is a little more than a "soft battery" ... behind the commercial name Kokam there is the DOW Chemicals , is the third largest chemical company in the world after BASF and DuPont http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dow_Chemical_Company , in my opinion not knowing Kokam when working in the battery field is like not knowing some very basic thing. (How can I buy a CHL battery if CHL itself don't know his competitor !!! )
Kokam are LiPo battery , so are much more dense and lighter than LiFePo4 , but also a lot more expensive , another level from the basic Thundersky and Thundersky clones.
In my opinion Kokam for some DIY or small series are too expensive , if you are someone like Nissan or Renault you can have good deal with Kokam ( As far I know all the battery pack for Nissan and Renault Group are made by Kokam)
LiFePO4 (TS,GBS,CHL,WB,SinP,CALB.... ) are safer battery because the PO4 ion is one of the stablest chemestry for the Li-Ion batteries , Li-Po need a very safe BMS and if abused the just explode.

The Kokam cells are nothing special, they're just Lithium Cobalt cells in LiPo Pouch format, of which there are hundreds of manufacturers
They're also really expensive for what they are, so are almost universally ignored in EV land, hardly a competitor to anyone.
The EV industry just aren't geared to use it (try finding a decent BMS for instance)
A123 and Enerdel make LiFePO4 cells in LiPo Pouch format, which make them more interesting
Reliability of supply (being able to buy them when you want) as well as packaging issues still make them hard to use
large format cylindircals have been around for a while, and the packaging issues have been overcome - headway
CHL's competitor's (IMO) would be the other large format prismatic LiFePO4 producers - Thundersky, CALB, Winston, Hi Power, GBS, etc

It is already not a problem to realise a high voltage and high discharge BMS now, our 24 cells, 120A to 150A continual discharge current has been applied on e-scooters and ebikes for many years, it works quite good, for your good reference, I attached a pic here, more details please go to the website www.szcoresun.com to see it, we'd like to answer more details for you if you are interesting it, thanks.

I'm looking for a good BMS and charger that's affordable. I have 15 100ah cells. Any suggestions ?

But softpack battery is difficulty and maybe problem on connector between cell and cables.and also heat spread problem too.
If you convert into CHL battery and active BMS,we can give you 8 years or 50000kms warranty

But our BMS by now only for 20cell, 24 cell active BMS will come out next month.
