Hi ! I have a bionx 36v battery that I use on my velomobile. The battery must have been refurbished by a previous owner, as it still gives me a bit of distance and a boost up the hills (usually towing a trailer with one or two toddlers in it). Its the second time now I have melted the fuse holder/solder out of the board, and am wondering if its just too much weight for the system, or whether the fuze (T30a250v) was dodgy from the last time the solder melted or whether it may have been the wrong fuse installed by the previous refurber. Any suggestions, and anyone know the recommended fuse type/size ???

Hi Tony - Thanks for the information, is this the same set-up as yours?
If your UK based, can you give me the name of the Auto store you got it from as the ones here don't have any.
Thanks again
Anthony
I don't think I attached the photo properly - see if this works -

No I am in the U.S. My battery has a Flat spade type of fuse But you should not have a problem changing it over If you wanted to. Remember one side is always hot

tonylumps, calm down ;-) This forum software is rather slow at times, but usually EVENTUALLY does what you asked it to do. Once you have clicked the "save" button, simply leave it at that, go have a cup of coffee or whatever, and when you come back to your computer most likely your post will have been saved.
My rides:
2017 Zero S ZF6.5 11kW, erider Thunder 5kW
That is funny. Here I am thinking it is at my end. Anyway to delete them
Hi Tony - hope you hadn't started dismantling your computer to find the problem, with the software the other end. At least it makes the thread look a very interesting one with a dozen entries in a matter of hours ;-)
re - bionx - I think what I am going to do, is replace the holder and fuse with the same type as I have already, rather than re-use the now heat treated holder (as last time) and get a specific bionx fuse to be sure its the right one. If that fails again your set-up sounds a sensible manufacturers development, and may ask them directly if that was to solve the melting problem I have had. Next time you have your battery open (I don't wish any maintenance on you) can you send me a photo of how its fixed, shape of holder etc and I'll look out for the closest match I can get, if it melts again. Many thanks - Anthony (attached trailer and bike photo below)

Very nice Go-One rig. When you change the fuse size Try it out without the trailer If it does not blow the fuse Then Try it with the trailer if it blows again you may be heating the motor and blowing it. But because Bionx does not give much infoon there site, Except to Dealers. If you contact them Directly they are good Guys to work with I do not have a Dealer Option. The spade fuse Holder just has 2 pigtails that you can solder in place of Existing Holder I have 2 kits Both on Rans Crankforward Bikes But because I am the only one Riding them I only have 1 Battery for the 2 Bikes I hate taking that battery apart But if I do I will get a Picture for you
