I just picked up my ZF9 yesterday - check it out:

Congrats on the new ride! Looks sweet. Keep us posted on your new ride (will you be selling the VX-1 or will you be a two EV household??)

I wish I could get my wife to ride the Vectrix! But, no, I'll be getting rid of the 'V' - as much as I hate to do that...
My son has expressed some interest in the bike - I may just give it him. But, he doesn't ride a motorcycle now - he'll have to get his motorcycle license first.
If he doesn't want it I wonder how much I could get for it.... It has the 50AH Li-ion battery pack now - it would be interesting to see what would happen if I put it up on eBay.
The link to the video should work now:

Thanks, it does :-) Pretty quiet controller in that Zero.
And what a shame to have to get rid of a 50Ah Li-conversion Vectrix, I DO hope for you that it can stay in the family!

Congratulations! It looks great. You must have one of the first ones.
I am also still thinking of buying one. Please let us know all the plusses and minusses compared to the Vectrix. Especially with regards to storage and passenger.
Enjoy your new ride and good luck with your decision on what to do with your V.
Brammo still only is showing nice pictures but Zero is already shipping. Well done to Zero!
Once you go EV, Gas is history!
Zero started shipping the bikes before the accessories were ready to ship. I ordered mine with the windshield and the side bags (as in the above picture), but I don't have them yet. There will be three bags, one on each side and one on the top/back. I think this will be adequate storage, but maybe not quite as convenient as the Vectrix storage. There is no helmet lock, so I have to take my helmet with me - or buy an aftermarket helmet lock.
As far as passengers - my wife always complained that the Vectrix passenger seat was too wide and therefore uncomfortable. The Zero seat is much narrower, but ironically, the passenger foot pegs are an optional accessory as well! This option wasn't available on the website when I ordered my bike, so I assumed that the bike came with passenger foot pegs. So, I haven't taken anyone for a ride yet, but when I get the passenger foot pegs I will post a comment regarding the passenger experience.
Meanwhile - here is a short video clip from today:

Hey oobflyer
Congratulation for your purchase.
I was looking for somebody already using the ZF9. I have VX-1 Li+ since May last year, and I'm quite happy with it doing on average 75-85km on charge (50 miles) in city traffic. 6400km an no problems till now. My ride has 5.4 kWh battery, so when I saw 9kWh in the same price I thought lets trade it up.
I visit local dealer of Zero, but unfortunately they didn't have a word more information that what available on the website, neither demo bike to test it. Could you share with us what is the real world range of your ride? I couldn't find anywhere what is the chemistry of ZF9 battery, do you know it? Last but not the least what would be the cost of battery if I have to replace it?
Thanks in advance.
Ride and have fun!

Hi Mo,
I started this thread awhile back, but quickly realized that most of the discussion regarding the Zero bikes is going on at:
http://electricmotorcycleforum.com/
I posted a thread there regarding my Real World Range.
The batteries are Li-ion, but I'm not sure what the exact chemistry is.
As far as the price of replacing the batteries - Zero claims that they will last for 300,000 miles of riding - so I'm not worried about that!
I also have a Li-ion Vectrix - I used antiscab's kit and upgraded to a 50AH, 5.7 kWh pack last year. The Vectrix is a bit more comfortable and convenient, but the Zero is much more exciting to ride.
