New R Martin R10 - Front Chain keeps jumping off (don't seem alined with back gears)

Subj: R10-h chain kept jumping off the front chain - Purchased new 2 days ago

I am new to posting. I hope someone can give me a tip. We just bought a new bike from RMartin (R10) and the front chain keeps "derailing". The chain a low gears appears to be being onto the front crank. Upon searching I found others on this site with a similar issue. I have left two phone messages (1 service and 1 sales) and two emails for guidance with RMartin but no response back. I only have 7 days to figure out if this is a defect or normal issue. I really want to keep this and buy a 2nd one. I will try to post two photos.
Thank you for any suggestions, William

It appears to be a design flaw. If you have a bike mechanic close to you, see if they can fit you a secondary chain ring (inside), so the chain will feed straight back in low gears. Hope this helps.

Thanks Bxcycleman..

I went to visit them in Austin on Saturday. They were able to resolve the issue. They were fast and friendly. We plan to buy a 2nd bike this month.
thanks,
Bill

Bill, just curious. Was it as you thought, out of line? And how did they resolve it, was it an easy adjustment? (Something we all could learn about) Nice bike. I hope it serves you well.

Howdy Bxcycleman, (mine is the R10-H version)

Since I bought the bike less then a week they looked at it and it was faster to just change the frame. (Just moved over my battery) I haven't had any problems with the new bike frame.

PS: What version is your bike?

Hey whudgens, is it spring yet in TX?
Just looking at the R10. NO decision yet. My "ride" is the BionX Xtracycle, listed in member vehicles. Use the search, you'll find it. Small motor, not very serviceable. Thinking about moving to different motor and controller, same power range though since I only use it to run the route to work and back.
A really good read is 'The Complete Do-It-Yourself Bike Book' by Mel Allwood, Marlowe&Co. NY, an honorable mention here, esp. for a D.A. like me. Lots of pictures and easy to read instructions. I find so many components just wear out too quick, and I don't like to replace with OEM stuff since it's usually not very durable. The neighborhood shop here carries so many choices for each bike, I could spend a fortune. Usually I get out of there for <$20 and I fix it myself.
I've already burned through two rear derailleurs, two chains, a triple ring, three wheels, front fork, several tires, brakes, cables, shifters...that's almost the whole bike.
Still chuggin'.

Corpus Christi eh? I used to live off Everhart, three blocks off OceanDr, over by the cemetery. Good memories of that place, Del Mar, Padre, Aransas.
Check out Endless-Sphere.com, and get some pertinent info on maintaining an EV in high humidity. There's some guy over in Hawaii who uses Lemon Pledge inside and out on his vehicles to keep them pristine.
