im avervolting my mac bmc 600w with an external controller,i managed to remove the potting and controller without damaging the wires or coil insulation,it took about three hours of boiling and and carefull chipping,but it wasnt too hard of a job at all.the controller im using is in the pic next to the motor it is a 25a 36v unit made by mac bmc.i;ve been told it was made for a 36v mac motor without an internal controller that was never put into production.it also mounts on the outside of the motor with long bolts and spacers.all the wires are labeled s1 s2 s3 f1 f2 f3,and there are also 5 small wires.next i guess i can go ahead and lengthen all the motor wires.i plan on using 10 awg,this is about as far as my know how will get me on this project.i've had plenty of experience with brushed motors,i have even rewound a few, but this is my first brushless adventure.HHHEEEEEELLLLLLPPPPPP

I can be of little help as I have never over-volted a motor before etc. However, I believe the 5 small wires are for Hall Effect sensors. but I cannot be sure. You have a complicated project that requires quite a bit of knowledge & expertise. I suggest you post in the ELECTRIC TECHNOLOGY/ CONTROL SYSTEMS or ELECTRIC TECHNOLOGY/ MOTORS sections of VISFORVOLTAGE. good luck!
