Anyone out there know where I might be able to get an MC card? Mine burnt out, and there don't seem to be any for sale anywhere! Any help appreciated.

Depending on what burned out, you might be able to repair it.

Hi Mik
I've already had a couple of electrical engineers check it out – it's kaput. Too badly damaged. The Vectrix dealer in Australia can't help either. (Actually, I think he's been sacked – no support whatsoever here now.)
Thanks
Bruce
Where / what is damaged on the board?

It's a bridge of transistors of some sort, most likely IGBTs. Another mate of mine has a wave soldering setup which hopefully will allow us to extract it. Probably won't be easy, I'm guessing.

Thanks Mik. This'll be useful for my sparky mate.

G'day Mik
Do you happen to know if there's anywhere in Australia I might pick up a rear disc bolt? We snapped one while investigating a noise in the bearing.
Any suggestions you have would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Bruce
I'd take out one of the remaining bolts and take it to a Nuts and Bolts shop. They should be able to find a suitable replacement for you, it's all metric.

Yeah, thanks Mik. It turns out that there isn't a great match, but with a little effort we can make it fit.

POWEREX makes the IGBT motor drive chip in the VECTRIX. It is rated for 300 amperes maximum, and last time I checked, cost was around $800 each!

Thanks Robert - already fixed the board. There's something a little odd with my discussion thread - recent post was about needing a disc mount bolt, but for some reason it's been combined with my earlier post about the board.
Cheers anyway.

Hi Bruce,
Can you update us on what it was that failed on your board and how it was fixed?
