Can anyone identify this controller?

I'm trying to upgrade this ebike (volt canada) and the guy I bought it from said he used to do conversions from 60v to 72, just add the battery... So I checked my controller, caps and mosfets all rated well above 72v but when I hook up the new battery (yes in series, 72v on the meter) the wheel doesn't turn. I still have power because everything running off the dc-dc converter works, and I can use my meter in the controller and verify there is 72v in there in places, but I can't figure out why the bike doesn't run at all on 72v... I suspect there's either a crowbar I can't find, or else there's a software overvoltage protection I just wont be able to bypass. Anyone else have an idea why it might not be accepting the higher voltage?

The controller has no names or identifying numbers that google can find, the label says it's 60V 800W.

Re: Can anyone identify this controller?

I can't identify your controller but both of my conversions did the same thing your did. My 48 volt to 60 volt worked fine till I charged the pack. Then after a long time it magically worked. So for a year all I did was run headlights for ten minutes or so and then start sequence. My first XM-3000 was 60 volt and I went to 72 volt and same thing. But a longer wait time. The max voltage for running appeared to be around 75 volts. I used more current so I went back to 60 volt pack. Now I can keep it under 50 amps more easy than before. I wish every one would use standard connecters and color codes in order to facilitate swapping of controllers more easily. Now I have a head light problem. Maybe an open wire for I can apply 12 volt up front to get lights working but rear is still out. Blinkers don't work either.

Obviously this is not a professional controller, I'd like to recommend a good BMS system for your packs, it is a real 72v (24s) BMS controller, please see its outlook is different, its perfect function is your need, I hope can help you, if you are interesting in this, please contact me, thanks.
