VX 1 Li+ stop during the ride and died

Hello,

my name is Achim and i have a VX Li+ and i had a problem that my vectrix is dead.
Unfortunately i allowed a friend to ride my Vectrix and during the ride the vextrix was switch off.
First i think this was a problem with the battery but he told me that he have enough battery power at the moment this happened.
So at my workshop i check the Vectrix and i can't find any failure.
I cannot switch the vectrix on the screen is dead, no fans are blowing when i connect the vectrix to the grid.
I check the 200 A fuse on the battery case and the fuse is ok(5 Ohm), but the battery voltage is only around 40 V for the complete battery.
So my questions to you:
What is the problem? Maybe you can look at your crystal ball and tell me the problem. ;o)
Without jokes maybe i forgot something to check and you can give me a hint what i forgot to check.
Is there a repair manual, i like to have an electric circuit plans of the vectrix?
Is the fuse on the case the only one? I think on the old Vectrix with NiMh battery was this fuse on the board.
Can i charge the battery with a normal Li-battery charger?

Kind regards

Achim

5 ohms for the main fuse seems remarkably high - I would expect it to be 1/100 Ohm or less - it has to pass up to 200A without getting hot! Did you check it in isolation (when removed) or in the circuit?

Hi Achim, welcome to the forum!

There is so far little information publicly available about the Vectrix VX1 Li+ scooter, but that can be fixed.

If you could post some photos of the battery pack and the presumed fuse you have measured as having resistance of 5 ohm, then it might become much clearer what is going on.

Many well educated and talented people read these posts and help generously with their time and effort, but most will never have seen the Li+ battery pack.

As it seems that you already have the battery and presumed fuse exposed, you might as well show us all as clearly as possible what it all looks like!

Also show clearly where exactly you measured the battery voltage of 40V. You might have measured at the wrong points, or something else is going on.

P = R x I^2 tells us that the 5 ohm measurement is either incorrect or it is not a fuse, or maybe a blown fuse, because at a 100A current draw, the "fuse" would have to dissipate 50,000W of energy as heat. That's about double the engine peak power.

This information may be used entirely at your own risk.

There is always a way if there is no other way!

Hello,
for the moment only a short answer
Thanks for your comments.
And you have absolutely right 5 Ohms are to high for 200A fuse, i don't really think about the value I'm only think its not burn that its ok.
I will check this again.
And also i will do some photos of the battery pack

Kind regards

Achim

Re: VX 1 Li+ stop during the ride and died

So i check the fuse, as before in isolation.
The resistance is 0.06 Ohm not 5 Ohm.
So this is the reason that i don't think the value is wrong. Sorry for the 5 Ohm, i misremember.
So but we should calculate =>
P=R*I^2 => I=100A R=0,06 Ohm => P=0.06 Ohm *100^2= 600 W
A little bit to high i think!
Is this ok or not?
Unfortunately littelfuse datasheet have no details beside of voltage, ampere and the dimensions.
My friend tell me that before the vectrix stopped a yellow wrench error happen the capcur.

Capcur warning is not a good sign but it may be just part of the problem. 0.06Ohm is difficult to measure with a cheap voltmeter - it that what you have used?
Cupcur CANBUS error implies one or more of the large ceramic capacitors on the motor controller or the surface mount 40A fuses that protect them, have blown or gone faulty. Is there any visible signs of discolouration? What do the motor phase posts look like - any signs of heat on terminals A, B or C - more photographs help! This may not be the case - it is very hard to diagnose!

Best wishes,

Drew

Hello Achim,

did you disconnect the battery before measuring the fuse?

Vielleicht beschreibst du dein Problem auch mal unter vectrix-forum.de. Vielleicht hatte schon mal jemand eine ähnliche Erfahrung gemacht....

i disconnect the fuse, the fuse is on the battery pack and you can easly remove the fuse.

Hello,

sorry for the delay i'm ill and i forgot my camera at the workshop.
But now here some picture from the Li+ Scooter.

who are the 40 A fuse? on the PCB?

There are many fuses on the MC. They look like this:

If the display showed CAPCUr, be sure to check the fuses near the big orange Murata capacitors.

Re: VX 1 Li+ stop during the ride and died

but the battery voltage is only around 40 V for the complete battery.

Recheck the voltage. If the entire battery is really at 40v, the electronics will not respond. They need at least 90v to wake up. You'll need to check individually all cell's voltages to find out what is going on.
