I think you would be able to smell it if the board is smoldering at the phase cable connections. I did not get the capcur error when my MC had that problem.
What maximum voltage can the capacitors hold? Is it the full battery voltage or maybe 1/4 of it because they might be in series somehow?
How long will they hold that voltage for, in other words, how long after a battery disconnect will the MC board remain dangerous to touch?

The cap cur message only appears when a resistor network becomes un-balanced or if one of the op-amps fail
This can be caused by a cap fuse blowing, one of the resistors going out of specification, or one of the tracks going open circuit
One such track comes rather close to both the left and middle phase connections
a burnt out phase can also severe this track
btw - all caps are in parrallel
each cap is actually made up of many little caps in parrallel (ceramic caps are great for high voltage, not so much for high capacitance)

3 days ago I got the error Message CAPcur.
Since a new MC is too expensive for me, i would like to repair it.
I have found a supplier for the murata Capacitor .
But where to get the 40A 250V Fuses?
I have found nothing to it. What's the manufacturer?
Are there any alternatives?
thanks,
Martin
Did you manage to get any capacitors? Could you please let me know and what they cost etc? I'd like to buy some if possible. THANKS
"Samples of Murata’s EVC (L32mm × W40mm × T3.7mm) series are available for $95USD per individual sample. For quantities greater than 10,000/month, cost is $35USD each. Lead time is approximately 10 to 12 weeks."
I didn't order them because mine turned out to be OK (most of the time they are).
I have more of the 40A fuses coming. PM me if you need some. I just sent my last two from the prior batch to someone in the UK (I'm in Seattle).

That reminds me... I have more fuses available next week. PM me if you need some. They've been going kinda fast. These are the 40A 250V little black box fuses on the MC board. I replaced two on a '08 VX-1 that I got for dirt cheap. Had the local PCB assembly shop swap them out, and the scooter works (after boosting the batteries back to charge threashold voltage).
PM me if you want some fuses.

Hi All
I got the Capcur issue today mu Lithium converted Vextrix. Unit is going great.
I was delighted how the bike is performing and this came up. I've parked it to save anymore damage even though its running fine
I'll probably open her up at the weekend to see what's wrong but if its a capacitor does anyone have the capacitor part number and where to purchase?
Regards Neil

You can supposedly order samples of the capacitor from the muRata site. http://www.murataamericas.com/evc-kcm Read the bottom of the screen:

MCCARTN
hi, somebody found a DIY, clever fuse solution for the vectrix's MC:
http://visforvoltage.org/forum/13975-motor-controller-blowed-warning
have a look:
Hi Martin,
Do you haveb any 40A GT Fuse left? I just blow one on my MC,
thank you
Afo
Others have apparently used these: https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Schurter/3403.0290.23?qs=DRkmTr78QATiB%2FizGnkS1g%3D%3D (Schurter UMT-H 40A)

The links works now, these fuse are rated 72V DC while the original one are 250V, would that have an impact?
