I purchased a second (used) Vectrix NiMH as the first one was wrecked in an accident. It came with an
topcasemountand with its problem damaging the plastic part on wich it is mounted. After some research
on the Internet I found a small polish company selling an adapterplate, which seems to be much more
reliable. It takes off the weight from the plastic as it uses "contact-points" (sorry don´t know the correct
word) of the frame. It uses parts of the original set (plate with the 4 holes, and the black bracket) but
could be used as stand alone with an adapter-plate from Givi or similar.

I´m highly satisfied with the result. The adapter was well manufactured, quite precisely fitting and easy to
install.

I installed one of these over the weekend. The only hiccup was that I had to cut some plastic to allow access to the seat bracket. Their instructions show a sort of half-moon slot with a rubber seal, which mine doesn't have.
Hi, do you mean this slot?
I heard in the german forum of this issue.
A driver there hasn´t this slot. Its weird, because my wreck is older (produced 2007)
and the used scooter seems to be younger than the mentioned scooter.
Fortunately both of my scooters (the wreck and the new one) have this slot.

Yep, that's it. I had to take a hacksaw to it. Easy enough, though.
This slot in the passenger grab is the remains of Vectrix designers' previous concept of instaling there a gas spring opening the rear seat when it is released. The idea was nice but too complicated and expensive I think, so it was left. The slot remained in project. However this was an initial project it is curious that passenger grabs from the beginnig of production period don't have this slot and other, later grabs have it. The change was made in 2007. So all bikes produced untill the end of 2007 should not have the slot. However in 2007 the factory in Poland received new sort of passenger grabs with the slot (unuseful but remaining in accordance with project) there were some "old" grabs on the stock so untill the end of 2010 there were bikes released from factory either with slot or not. After 2010 till now all bikes should have the slot covered with rubber seal.
This post was timed perfectly, as I sunk down a 4 ft, 6 inch deep pothole that seem to blight the UK at the moment (when I went back in daylight, it looked like a dinosaur footprint), causing the exact same damage as per the initial photo, only my grab rail was also completely severed on one side. Contacted the supplier through the handy link and it was posted on Thursday, received Tuesday and installed Wednesday. It's extremely well made, weighty and a huge improvement over the stock Vectrix solution. Wholeheartedly recommended if you have a top box.
Now, on with the claim with the Council who let the road get into that state in the first place....
I also bought one of the Vectrixpro top case support+mount. It's the stage 2.
The one from Vectrix is expensive and not as strong.
Here is the story of my instalation:
The Stage 1:
Good package, color instalation manual and excelent overall quality.
The Stage 2:
All metal, painted in black and VERY strong!
First remove the back with a Phillips:
The 4 bolts to be replaced:
Some rust as the previous owner (ptvolt) never ran from the rain. But it's something that happens in all Vectrix.
Remove with Allen key:
Open the seat and remove with Allen key both bolts on the sides:

The next step as mentioned before depends on your bike. In my bike I had to cut the plastic to turn this:

It's a very hard plastic but a saw takes care of it :)

Get the two U pieces:
and put them in place:
Bolt them in. You can use the longer bolts as guides to help:
There is no need to tighten too much as you might need to adjust it latter on..
After that I advise everybody to remove the seat.
Place the bolts and spacers from the kit and tighten them in:
To finish the support just place the piece across and bolt in the long bolts:
For the mount, if you don't have holes you have to drill 4 of them. The polish guys are smart and give you a pattern to help. Just apply over the piece, mark and drill:
A dremmel tool really helps:

To finish apply the bolts and that's it! In my instructions the bolts where wrong. I had to switch the 60mm with the 50mm ones. Not to dificult to figure it out :)
