VX-2 Is this a small scooter?

I have a VX-1 that is sort of going south and new it might of had a real 25 or 30 mile range. It is 2007 and back then it was 125 volts worth of NiMH pack powered and three hour charge time. I am trying to find information on Vectrix VX-2 and type of battery pack. Nothing shows up much on Google and what does show up is 40 to 55 mile range. Now that would be great. But if it is a small scooter then how could it have that much range.? Does it have Lithium pack or is it NiMH like the VX-1? Is it a 60 volt pack or 96 volt pack? Who sells these scooters in the "Great Northeast" I did find a price of MSRP of $4000.00 plus and figure they might go for some what less. Why is it so hard to find information on this scooter. It sure would be nice to find a scooter with 40 plus mile range. Nothing on V about VX-2 or VX-3 if there is such a thing. I have XM-3100 and XM-3000 and range is 20 to 24 miles new and now under ten miles at 60 volt pack voltage. I installed 40 AH TS cells in XM-3000 and pack lasted almost a year before most of the cells swelled up and or just died. So what is the actual range of VX-2 and where does one find these scooters for sale new or used?

Re: VX-2 Is this a small scooter?

One thing you can count on is that the advertised range will be on level roads, at a constant speed of no more than 45MPH. This (we'll call it) "optimistic" advertising of range pervades the industry. My ZEV 5000LA has an advertized range of 50 miles at 50MPH, which was apparently achieved by one man riding on flat roads to work and home, and running his pack way down to near shutoff. My more 'real world range' has been from 30 to 40 miles, depending on how much effort I put into range extension. So expect your VX-1's range to be more like 30 miles, or less if you ride it as you would an ICE scooter. I have no info on the model, though, except for a vague, unreliable recollection of someone saying it was lead-acid powered, to save money. If it has lead-silicon batteries don't let that scare you off (mine have been perfectly reliable and trouble-free, unlike some of the rest of the scooter), but keep in mind that you can only use about 60-75% of the capacity without greatly shortening pack life. This, BTW, may also apply to lithium packs. ;-)

Re: VX-2 Is this a small scooter?

Site says "SLA 48V (60 Ah)"
http://www.vectrix.com/content.cfm?n=products-vx2-inner#page=page-2

There is the Specs

If you are really thinking of spending that amount, why not just get new Lithium batteries for the VX-1 ? :)

I just saw a great video from antiscab :) Was a really good video, i think even I could do it after watching that....

I am thinking that the VX-2 is not really going to be a 30mph sustained speed. probly more like 20mph.

This site sucks - a second post sat here *all day* without loading. Anyway, here is a review, which I was able to find in five seconds:

You can get a new old stock 2009 E-Moto G-3 that actually has a higher top speed with the restriction disabled, for about $1200 on Ebay. It even looks suspiciously like the VX-2.

Re: VX-2 Is this a small scooter?

There is a new or almost new VX-2 on Ebay. It's located in Vermont, USA. There are also several E-Motos: a G-1, G-2, G-3, and one G-5. There are several of the G-3's available, I think. They are 2009 models, still crated. You can get one for as little as $1150, shipped, if you are the only bidder. There were no bidders last time. Somebody please get the G-3 so I don't buy it!

That looks very tempting but I want a little more Umph.
Funny, they don't say much about the vx2 on the listing.
There is also a VX-1 from TX on there, hardly anything written about it. Wonder why they are selling
