Yo Moderators! Where did my post on this thread go - and how come it seems to have changed back to the old subject?

Re: "XM-2000 stopping problem + thermal breaker fix"

For those arriving here and expecting to see a description of a "thermal breaker fix" please note that there is no definitive agreement that the XM2000's thermal breaker is in fact broken. Nor, is there any agreement that it is too sensitive and requires "desensitizing" (or otherwise "fixing"). See this post for a little more detail: http://visforvoltage.org/forum/motorcycles-and-large-scooters/1858

In fact, if I were you I'd leave it alone - if you fiddle with it and then something more expensive gets fried you shouldn't be able to make a warranty claim.

The whole idea of a fix came about because one forum member met a man at a flea market who said he had a fix.

As for the stopping problem I believe the problem was that there was one or more bad batteries in the string, this was causing the breaker to trip. Usatracy and Raynman may care to comment more on that (Raynman had the problem and Usatracy offered the diagnosis)

Thank you for the update, so modifying the Controller won't work?

Uh, no.

There are over 80 replies on that thread and you only read one - the wrong one?

` :?
I have no idea where the word thermal breaker started in the thread, and never understood why a thermal breaker was being used.
FWIW, there are only 3 things to be concerned about and the Ohms Law Calculator may help. Heat is a sort of by product.

Peace Out,

ROTFL - according to a search on the original thread some dude called usatracy first introduced the word thermal in this post: http://visforvoltage.org/forum/motorcycles-and-large-scooters/1778#comment-6220

Hey usatracy you dumbo! ;-) (Moderators this isn't a flame - I assure you usatracy can take it!)
