Body and seat care

I have started to see the seam opening on the seat of the bike and little bits of rust on the chrome around the dash indicators. What do people do to keep their bike pretty, besides keep it in the bedroom, which I won't do.

Wax? Can I sand and then polish out the road rash? What about the rubber foot pads and lines? Black plastic on the inside area of the bike? Wax? No Wax? Sure has a LOT of scuff marks from my tennis shoes while swinging a leg over...

Re: Body and seat care

My second vx1's chrome was pretty rough when i got the bike. The groomer at my work attacked it with super super fine wire wool and then gave the whole bike a wax.. bloody miracle worker !

However it wasn't your typical soapy washing pans wire wool - remember that ! Normally I'd not recommend wire wool on chrome - but this was astonishing. I'll see if i can get photos as its not been done for a year !
