In review of the Li upgrade and seeing that the temperature sensor boards
can basically be removed I was wondering if anybody knows if the ICSP connections
for the PIC are actually in-circuit. Looking at the pictures provided by MIK
in the handbook do not really shed any light in this respect. Before I pursue
re-using these boards it would be nice to know if they can be easily re-programmed.
If so I might be able to interface them with a display and provide the CANbus monitor
for volts/amps/temps that people have expressed a desire for in some threads....but
this is all predicated upon being able to reprogram them.....

Well, ok... in this case ... is there anybody that has changed out their
ESD charger that would be willing to part with a couple of the 'extra/spare/unused'
temp sensor controller boards as sacrificial units?? Please send PM.
I see that the circuit card does have the thru-board holes for
the ICSP connector; although, the pins are absent. Usually this
means that ICSP is available but I like not to assume.
...or maybe someone parting out their bike??
Still looking for a couple of good boards....
Anyone??
Still looking for a set of Temperature Sensor boards (front and rear).
At this point I will take them as untested (working or not).
Please PM me....thanks,
Galago
Well... not exactly the way I had hoped to obtain a spare set of
sensors but I now have them.... before and after a seasons worth of
repair work...
...and my Vx-1 now has a LED head light. More brightness and
half the power draw ((and NO blinking dash light - uuhh and NO STICKER either!!)...
.. ya it may weigh a tad bit more than the original, including all
the adapter plates/brackets, but I have lost 20 pounds
during the recovery period which more than makes up for the
additional infrastructure gain. Enjoy! ...and ride safe.
