contactor or fuse position in circuit rules - WHY??

Manuals advise contactors and fuses to be put on the B+ end of the circuit not the B-
Why does it make any difference, the whole lot is connected in series so I can't see how in physics it matters
Theres obviously something about electronics I don't understand, grateful if someone can explain?

As you say it really doesn't matter, but when it comes to vechicles minus earth (ground) has been the standard for a long time and therefore it's easier to put fuses and such on the plus wires.

Though of course a high-voltage traction battery should have no business at all with ANY pole connected to the vehicle frame/body! Traction batteries should be completely isolated within the vehicle for obvious safety reasons.
But as Johnny J wrote, that does not stop electric vehicle manufacturers from placing fuses and the likes on the positve pole of the traction battery, just out of good old familiarity...
