-- Riders are Invited to Demo the World’s Leading Electric Motorcycles --

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (March 11, 2014) – Zero Motorcycles, the global leader in the electric motorcycle industry, today announced that its 2014 model line is now available at authorized dealers across Europe and North America. In response to increased demand for its innovative electric motorcycles, Zero worked closely with its international dealer network to ensure that the award-winning lineup would be available for test rides in time for the spring riding season. Demo’s can be scheduled via the Zero Motorcycles website and the motorcycles are now available for purchase through dealerships.

"With 2014 fully underway we are excited to introduce new and existing motorcycle enthusiasts to the power of electric,” said Mike Cunningham, North American Director of Sales for Zero Motorcycles. “We have increased the performance, quality and refinement for 2014, while also offering more value. We are inviting all riders to visit their local dealer to experience the thrill of riding and learn about the advantages of owning a Zero.”

The 2014 line is more powerful, more refined, and has more features. At the core is the most advanced Z-Force® powertrain to date. The new Zero SR sets the performance standard with 24% more power and a stunning 106 ft-lbs of torque. The Zero S, Zero SR, and Zero DS can now cover 171 miles in the city (88 miles highway) with the optional Power Tank. Throughout the line, riders will find new bodywork, neatly integrated componentry, cleaner instrumentation, improved braking and better handling. Re: Zero Motorcycle's 2014 model line now available in ...

We were lucky enough to have Zero Motorcycles at our National Plug-In event, with *three* different Zero models! I rode both the FX and the DS (it was the police-optioned model, so I had to stay in the parking lot / access road area with that one) and both bikes mightily impressed me. I passed on the SR because the low, 'lean on your arms' seating position would have been Hell for me. The FX was so fast I had no desire to test the warning about inadvertent wheelies and take it out of Eco mode. I rode it for several miles, and aside from the suspension height being a bit tall for me, the bike was fantastic to ride on the road, despite its Dirt Bike Racer configuration. The knobby tires stuck well enough for a test ride, anyway, and the bike was very tractable with the right amount of Regen braking. The DS was more docile in Eco, but it both felt very substantial and handled very well. A brief burst of Sport mode was enough to reassure me that when I get lucky and buy one, I won't be disappointed. I barely looked at the Tesla Model S there.

My ZEV 5000LA, with 8500 watt motor, is now for sale. I doubt I could enjoy riding it again after the Zeros, even if I can find and fix the loose connection in the wiring.

My issues with riding sport bikes have to do with back and arm/hand problems, and it applies to all sport bikes, not just the Zero. I guess I'll comfort myself by saying I'd probably get a Lemon like my ZEV 5000...

The Zero S ZF-9 is re-listed on Ebay. Opening bid: $7500. Check it out. I asked for info and it supposedly belonged to the owner of the largest Zero franchise in the world. It has a larger controller to increase HP and torque, and some cosmetic mods like blue lights and clip-on mirrors. Just searching the brand or model should get you the listing.

Zero Motorcycle is a good brand. I don't know when I can own one. I have battery management system for E-motorcycle, I don't what battery they use. Lifepo4? or lead acid? I thik lifepo4 battery will be batter. Anyway, safety is top priority.
