Vibrations

Since this seems to be a common problem, I'll make a separate thread about the issue.
There seems to be a couple of possible sources of vibrations,

- Unbalanced front wheel
Easy to fix with normal balancing procedures.

- Unbalanced rear wheel
Harder to fix. Any ideas here?
Putting magnets on different positions and spinning the rear wheel with the motor on the center stand might work, but seems a bit arbitrary.

- Tyre is not symmetrical
Seems to be common with the standard Chinese tyre.
Throw away and buy a new one.

- Head bearing play
Tighten until no more play.

- Not enough or too thin oil in the shocks
How do I check this? Do I have to remove the shocks completely?

Re: Vibrations

Balancing the front wheel is covered in this YouTube video

The tyre may not be beaded on the rim correctly, could have picked up a nail/screw or other foreign object or could have worn patches if it has clocked up a few thousand k use.

Front forks may have uneven level of oil, or have stiction because of a missing axle spacer.

The rear shockies may have uneven air pressures and/or preload settings from one side to the other.
