About ESD frozen charge...

Hi,
I have asked to The Laird about frozen charge because my batteries are nickel and if it happens I think my the batteries die. When is Li maybe with BMS nothing happens. I asked if it be fixed in his software (Laird software). I think his reply is interesting:

"No. The problem has not been solved because no-one knows why it
happens HOWEVER, I have reason to believe that it is caused through the
bike electronics not having completed it's microprocessor routines.

What I suggest may solve and prevent this problem is that the bike be
left completely switched off for at least half an hour before plugging
in to charge. This will allow all electronic / microprocessor routines
to complete and shut down correctly and should prevent any possibility
of the malfunction which worries you.

I can offer you no guarantee that the problem will not arise as I did
not write the original programme and have little understanding as to how
a lot of it works and I cannot take any responsibility for what much of
the programme does."

Thanks

Re: About ESD frozen charge...

Is there any programmable over-voltage protection device, that when reaches 148v DC, it opens an AC relay to turn off the charger?

Re: About ESD frozen charge...

Nice to meet you MR Google. However, I'm afraid have no clue about electronics...
Is there any device to buy anywhere, or any simple instructions hanging around to make a pretty basic DIY design?
many thanks in advance...

EDIT:
thanks Bluestreak, you found a post from Soyouz with the solution:

a

safety relay if you want to avoid BMS, I put this one : http://fr.rs-online.com/web/p/relais-de-surveillance/0261987/ .This relay must be put on main wire to shut down charge if voltage goes above determined voltage (avoid overcharge)

Thanks!!!
The info is all inside, the problem is find it.

Another possibility is the Minibms EV-display together with a solid state relais. More expensive, but with futures like a secure aH counter.
