I do not see any small daughter board on these MCs to fix the standby power consumption problem, but I don't know what to look for.
Do you think these are a good buy?
The daughter board is just above the white socket for the charger connector
these are the new version motor controllers - if they are working they are an outstanding buy

Maybe I should not have mentioned it .... I got outbid, buhuuu...
Watch that postage: US$95.-
I still cannot spot the daughter board - which one is the charger connector?
Will The Lairds firmware run with these controllers?

Looks like the seller has rather a few MC's - the luck fellow
I did kinda tell all and sundry about it
The Laird has yet to modify the MC firmware, he just uses the old MC1014b.hex firmware
I'm pretty sure it works on the old firmware, as none of that part of the board has changed
I have yet to test it on a new board though, I always use the later 68mph versions of the firmware

I did try both revisions in a Li converted scooter. Both with MC1014B. I noticed not any difference in driving or other behavior. I have 2 working spare MC boards here (from NiMh VX-1). 1 board is for sale if anyone should need it or want to hold one as spare. Send a PM or e-mail.
the difference between MC1014b and all later revisions is:
1) top speed (62mph with MC1014b and 68mph with all later ones)
2) low voltage limit (102V with MC1014b, 108v with all later revisions, although that may have changed for the lithium versions)
3) CAN ID for the battery current - this is the reason why The Lairds firmware needs MC1014b for the fuel guage to work correctly, as it is based on the older charger firmware

Mik, now I am using a 2010 Board. Newer boards accept perfectly MC1014b, however I've noticed one difference, the MC fan runs at slightly-slower speed.
It sold: Winning bid: US $425.50

That MC went to a fellow in Melbourne
And another fellow from Adelaide bought another one
sadly, none of those MC's are left
