It's getting late so a few more, please ask any question you want and I will try to answer.2015-05-12 14.45.34.jpg2015-05-12 17.15.30.jpg2015-05-13 14.15.37.jpg2015-05-14 14.37.07.jpg2015-05-15 16.34.15.jpg2015-05-20 12.35.44.jpg2015-05-22 11.09.03.jpg2015-05-22 11.43.19.jpg2015-05-22 13.12.01.jpg2015-05-22 13.30.55.jpg2015-05-22 14.24.15_0.jpg2015-05-22 14.24.23.jpg2015-05-22 14.24.30.jpg2015-05-22 14.24.43_1.jpg2015-05-22 14.24.51_0.jpg2015-05-27 11.39.57.jpgThis will be all for tonight.see-ya.

Wow, what a work of engineering and art ! VERY nice (and heavy?):-)
The rear cross bar (tube) appears to have been a later addon - was there too much flexing of the "static" framework that showed up during first tests?

The other thing that intrigues me in these designs is the right spring forces of the side wheels: they must be high enough for keeping the bike upright during standstill, but soft enough to allow full tilt in cornering when needed, as you don't want to fall over then. How did you deal with that?
Then again, both the very short levarage of your swingarms and the very minor vertical space of the tires under their fenders appear to dictate a vertical stance at all times, thus reducing the VX1 to a VXC4 neighborhood electric vehicle...

Re: BLUESTREAK3'S VX-4 IS NOW COMPLETE.

HI MEROLLER, I added the rear tub bar for several reasons (1) to add a trailer hitch, (2) and for looks, there was not too much flex in the system and the bike is not a big leaner but it will lean just a small amount just enough to make you feel like it's leaning. the torsion bars are almost in a flat horrozonial state before the rear end weight and center wheel are let down on them, then they flex about 3/4in.in the short 6in. long bar but they can flex apox. 2-1/2in if you were to put 212 lbs.each on them and there is plenty of room under the fender to take all the flex that it needs.after adding the rear bar and tighting the bolts it became stiffer so I slacked off the bolts just enough to re-gain the right flex, later I am going to shorten each end of the bar just enough to add a 3/8in. thick piece of rubber in order to keep the right amount of flex. please ask any question you want and I will try to answer.2015-05-27 11.41.30.jpgyou may be abel to see the rear with a little tilt with me just shifting my weight to the left, i haven't had anybody to help take photos except a couple of times so it's hard to show much lean yet. bye.

I must admit you've done a piece of DIY engineering with the Vx4. Be careful on sharp turns, and enjoy: As a neighbourhood vehicle it will do an excellent job.
