Brand new owner of this 2007. Batteries are completely dead. Any ideas on cheap replacement? If not I may be selling parts :(

My white Li+ 2011. It still has reasonable range (60-70km), but in a short time will know the surgeon.

Silver bike 01 01_0.jpg

2008 NiMH Vectrix converted to Li-Ion. The scooter had done 8,000 Km when I bought it not going. Battery fitted is Panasonic 110 AmpHr. The battery is in two parts and I ride it most of the time with the bottom 70 Amp/Hr fitted. It weighs 185 Kgs in this form. When I want to go further I fit the top cells to make 110 Amp/Hr. Has not been ridden flat and range is over 350 Kms. The bottom battery pack also has a Ultra Capacitor bank behind it made of 48 50F caps with electronic balancing. The Laird Li-Ion firmware has been fitted using original ESD charger and instrumentation.
Current odometer is 23,000 Kms. The 90 Amp/Hr red scooter I had been riding for the past several years year was written off when a car ran into it. It had done 36,000 Kms on the same Panasonic batteries that I swapped across to this scooter.

Re: Show your Vectrix

Is the front tire on one of your Vectices backwards? Just looking at the thread patterns on your photos ...

Re: Show your Vectrix

I think you'll find it is just different patterns on different makes of tyre.

The standard Pirelli tyre (which appears to be fitted on the red one) would appear to displace the surface water away from the centre as it rotates, whereas the Michelin style tread pattern (which appears to be fitted on the blue one) looks like it sends the surface water towards the centre of the tyre.
But if the wheels lock up, the surface water will be forced in the opposite direction on each of the tyres.

I have the exact opposite, original Pirelli tyres on my blue Vectrix and replacement Michelin tyres on my red one and although the patterns are obviously different and appear reversed, the direction of rotation arrows on both tyres are definitely pointing in the correct direction for forward rotation:

I much prefer the handling on Dunlop tyres as I find the Pirelli tyres try to turn the steering into corners too much compared to the Dunlop tyres.

Here at the 2015 National Encounter of Electric Vehicles, Lisbon, where we managed to gather 199 EVs, hence setting a new record for the Iberian Peninsula:

- Givi V46 Tech + VectrixPro luggage mounting;

Next planned changes include:
- Center stand (already ordered from VectrixParts);
- Tecno Globe Gold heated grips;
- Side reflectors on the back (see Ben's bike pictures);
- Givi E106 (cargo box interior light);
- LED headlight lamp;
- Hazard lights;
- Cruise Control;
- Cargo space interior light ON when lifting the seat;
- Hand-guards (from Suzuki AN400 Burgman, Wunderlich or KTM);

Re: Show your Vectrix

And so yesterday my 3rd Vectrix VX1 arrived :-)

Its a 2007 very early one with chassis number 307.
It appeared that the front temp board was defective so the previous owner hadn't charged it for a while and the batteries were down flat to just 6 volts for the whole pack.
I jump started it to one of the other Vectrix and let the battery ' flow' to just 100volt.
Installed one of my 'magic box' to simulate the broken temp sensors and then the charger started.
After 4 hours the batteries were charged and a good polish and some tlc the bike is ready to go !

Vectrix VX1 2007 nr 307.

Just finished the Leaf conversion and it is a dream to ride. Work already is fun. Now getting to work will be too.
