What are the specs of the battery for Trek Ride Plus 2100

My battery has died. We were thinking of adapting lead acid technology to power it. Is this possible? Does anyone know what configuration we would need?

Who sold you the bike? Does the battery pack have any kind of description plate on it? You could open the pack up and count the cells. The nominal voltage would be the number of cells times 3 volts. Four lithium cells is equal to the six lead-acid cells in a 12V battery.

I's also recommend that you check out this far more active e-bike builders and experimenters forum:

I finally gave up on the power assist. I'm just riding a regular bike now and down shifting my way up hills. I miss the power assist but I can't afford to fix it.

I can sell you cheap, or possibly even give you, an EZIP Trailz slope tube bike. It has a lot of miles on it but is in good shape. It needs a motor, but I can give you a working (if a little clattery) motor with it, and and even a battery case that would need about $35 worth of new SLA cells. I have three of the bikes, and not enough room. If you are interested I can post photos of the bike. I'm about 30 minutes North of Albany NY.

Thanks for the offer, Leftie. I don't think it's practical. I'm a penniless senior living on Long Island. The shipping would be expensive. I can live with what I have.

I was thinking you might be able to drive up and pick it up. If not, I agree that it isn't practical. If anyone else in the region wants it, you can have it for free, provided you plan to ride it rather than part it out, and will reinstall the motor yourself.
