Vectrix Vx-1 18650 batteries

I bought a Vectrix Vx1 with 1150km. When I bought this Vectrix the batteries, charger, bms and controller were damaged..

At the moment it is being built one pack with 504 cells Samsung 35E 18650.

Unless the connections on the opposite side of your pack has individual fusible links (Similar to the Tesla packs) I would be concerned if a single cell developed an internal short circuit fault. Without individual fusible links on each cell, the combined maximum current from the other 13 cells connected in parallel across a single shorted cell would instantly cause it (along with the thirteen good cells) to overheat and possibly ignite which could very quickly cause extreme fire damage.

Never underestimate the potential destructive power contained within these very innocent looking cells, as the unexpected can sometimes occur.

According to Sod's Law, if it can go wrong, it will go wrong, and probably at the worst possible time, which means that the battery pack located in between your legs could decide to instantly burst into flames while you are riding along at 60-70mph!

The possibility of such an event occurring is extremely unlikely, but you still need to be aware that it could happen!

Maybe , the most dangerous thing is not that you had not fused every cell , with a current limiter like i show into the battery i was making for a vacuum cleaner. The most dangerous thing is that you have put such amount of copper//nickel that the ventillation orifices are totally closed.I told you , that 504 cells of samsung 35e are insuficient for the vectrix power , well the fact it's that in my case , i'll be using recycled laptop cells , 1000 cells to be exact with a total max output of 14 kw , so don't accelerate much , or you will destroy your cells quickly.

Re: Vectrix Vx-1 18650 batteries

Thanks for yours explanations and advise.

1º The welding work is from a local guy, i don't now the glue that he used.
2º Good point of view, you have reason Hall, maybe is too much nickel and the cells doesn't have enough ventilation. I will talk about this situation with my guy.
3º The pack have only 23kg and i have 60kg, this vectrix doesn't need the same power of vectrix nimh. But i'm a little concerned about this situation and I am considering buying another 200 cells, but i wanted see first their performance..
4º Now in my country (North Portugal) it's winter and the temperatures hover around de 5C and 15C, i think it could only 504 cells for over 2s months, for me to join more money to buy more bateries.

Sorry my english :D but i don't like the google translate :x
