Re: Dealing with climate change

"We are most likely witnessing natural fluctuations in the climate system - changes that can occur over several decades - and which are coming on top of a long-term warming. The natural changes resulted in a rapid global temperature rise in the 1990s, whereas the natural variations between 2000 and 2010 may have resulted in the levelling off we are observing now."

The "climate cycle" is definitely in the background as one factor.

Humans have added some extra CO2.

The oceans are the most dominant force in climate because a change in circulation will change weather patterns.

----------------

From the perspective of man's adaptation to climate change we will see these changes in climate whether man adds carbon or not. It's just hard for humans to accept that change is normal.

Climate caused racial diversity in the human population... so we (as a species) have a lot of experience with change.

Those that cannot adapt to climate change will probably become extinct. (historically this is true)

Safe, you are welcome to say anything you like that pertains to the topics covered by this forum, but you may not turn this into a discussion of politics, religion, and hot-button social issues that have nothing to do with transportation. I edited your last post to remove the off-topic portions.

"we must be the change we wish to see in the world"

My point was that "change" is always hard to cope with and this is true in more than one area in life.

But if "parallel thinking" is not desired I'm okay with it.

Re: Dealing with climate change

It's for anyone to do anything about it when a good percentage of the world's population thinks that it either does not exist or it doesn't have any serious consequences nor will have any effects that will affect them.
It doesn't help that change is the last thing those who are making money off of processes and substances that produce the most green house gases want.
