LTO lithium titanate oxide

Hi guys,
Just saw I’m a member of this forum since 10 years.
Seems like yesterday I bought my trusted V..

Still running on Nimh, but it’s getting annoying now.
So I’m thinking to do a conversion, but I’ve been keeping it off as long as possible obviously.

Now LTO is available, I’m leaning towards it.
Have done some research but can’t find any documented conversion.

Any leads, thoughts, opinions, anything before I start?

Tia

Gadzooks, man! If you have been battling with NiMh for that long just do a LEAF upgrade! Up to 80 miles range (18 x Gen1 modules) and they can be bought for well under $100 each in the US. Tried and tested with loads of info on doing the conversion on this forum and others... Why bother with anything else?

Hello...yes I have also been around here a while...also want to do the same conversion but I have found Leaf cells to be extremely difficult to find in Europe...Maybe there are other options?
thanks,

UK eBay... just looked ... eBay item number: 372643123434. Seller (Seller: jocon_2306(1) 100%) has no feedback so be careful. They come up quite regularly on UK eBay...

Hey Martin and Jonathan, good to see you again..

Leaf cells are kind of difficult to get indeed (especially in Greece) but also at 100€ a pack, it’s still 1800 + bms will also be some.
And then you still get secondhand in who knows what condition.
60 cell LTO would be around 3000€ new.. and it seems to be a promising technology.
Weight would actually be more important than range to me, 40 to 50 km would be fine..

"doing nothin = doing nothing wrong" is invalid when the subject is environment

Hi Turok,
I'd rather recomend you to go for leaf 4, good for 220 km of range. Just a suggestion, If you ship your vectrix to barcelona we can convert it oficial conversion with 3,3 TC charger, latest BMS and leaf 4. Full firmware integration, it would be like 2019 Vx1, except for the CBS.
