Still works!

Board has seemed quiet, so I'll chime in....

2009 VX-1 with 18 Leaf cells, still running strong. Except for new tires and inspection, has been totally faultless this summer. At some point (it's been 4 years since I swapped the batteries), I need to pull the seat and check the cell balance. No BMS, so it's probably way over due. But, no problems with the bike, still making about 60 miles per charge. (When I set it up with Dave Dugas' help, we set ourselves pretty far away from the limits for charge and discharge, so should not be any where near the dropoffs).

Re: Still works!

I have a 2008 Li+ My range is down to about 30 miles and it struggles to get up to speed in the winter. So I am thinking about a new battery or a whole new Vectrix.

Re: Still works!

FWIW. You have a BMS (mine doesn’t). It’s an ideal candidate for Leaf Cells. I got 18 for $1500. I believe Vectrix Parts has a PCB to make it more of. Plug and play install than mine was (http://shop.vectrixparts.com/pcb-for-aesc-leaf-module-18s.html). They also had battery boxes for the Leaf cells, but in my opinion not needed).

Good luck getting it up to speed !
