Lashout Scooter Upgrade/mods

I have a stock Lashout Scooter I purchased in 2002. I've been browsing the forum looking for help. Can I get upgrade/mod options from anyone who has already done them. I want to increase my speed and range. I'm not an engineer, I don't have a machine shop. I am looking for plug 'n' play options that the average guy can install. I have read about the awesome jobs people have done to there scooters. I would like to apply some of the results.
