Schwinn Stealth 1000 Electric Scooter

Hey guys,

I'm new to the forum, I was reading a couple topics and have a question. I have a Schwinn Stealth 1000 that needs a battery replacement. I have no idea what I should be looking for in a replacement but I know the stock battery won't do what I need as I am a 215 pound guy. Ideally, this would be the typical day for my scooter. Leave home and ride 3.5 miles to job #1. After one hour (not charging), ride 3.5 miles home. Change for job #2, ride 3.5 miles to job #2. Work for 9 hours (not charging), ride 3.5 miles home. 14 miles throughout the day. Charge the scooter overnight and do the same thing the next day. Basically, the scooter will be ridden 4 times a day on somewhat hilly terrain, 3.5 miles each time, with no charging in between. Any suggestions on what battery or batteries I should be using and where I should be buying them? I don't want to spend an insane amount of money but I do understand that I will have to spend a bit in order to see results. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Tyler

Re: Schwinn Stealth 1000 Electric Scooter

Is that a 36v bike? 2 choices could be

1) A 36v 20amphr Ping Lifepo4 pack, will cost you around $470

2) Make your own pack, using 12 of the longer 16amphr Headway Lifepo cells, that will cost about 12 x $30 = 360

1) would come with a BMS, and might be most peoples choice.

2) Would be more of a DIY build. I like this option because its easier to exchange bad cells if theres ever a fault, but it requires fabricating some screws and wires to link the cells. Also would need cell voltage monitoring every few charges if u didnt use a BMS.

Either option should give a 14 mile range

Note, there was a recent posting on here from someone advertising a 36v Vpower 20amp pack for $350
