HELP -Display permanently turned on

HI!
Today I need your help!
This night the display of my vectrix decided to stay on, despite switching of the ignition key: The Battery gauge and the estimated range disappeared, and the Ready also. The nail of the odometer does not move any more. I tried to recharge, with no result. I tried a hard reset of the charger, by unplugging the twin-lower pigtail connectors, with no result. The clock in the diplay is working, and I can switch between miles and KM. I turned off the kill switch, and pressed the left brake lever, with no result in the nail.
Is the Motorcontroller frozen? has anybody experience this problem before?
I there an easy way to make a hard reset of the motorcontroller?
many thanks in advance.

Re: HELP -Display permanently turned on

I think you'll have to pull apart the anderson connectors because the microprosessor has frozen. This reminds me of a portable computer I have that occasionally when it locks up the only way to turn it off is to remove it's batteries.

Re: HELP -Display permanently turned on

You could try to turn the charger on and off again (plugging in), but disconnecting the Andersons connector is probably the safest option.
Good luck!

Ok. Seems water problem.
The anderson connectors are the blue ones in the battery.
I'll need a bulb to reconnect it...

Re: HELP -Display permanently turned on

I finally took my bike to the local dealer.
We disconnected the main battery for 2 days, on reconnect it does the same. We are waiting to have completely dry that wet connector wich is causing the fault .

Hallo MIke,
This is the problem: We don't know which one is wet, and I'm afraid we can't find out....

Re: HELP -Display permanently turned on

I had a that issue, back when Dana first started servicing bikes after New Vectrix formed, he seemed very concerned, unfortunately before he got a chance to come see (I am on the wrong coast) the bike fixed itself after a week of sitting. I just walked past it one day and it was fine. I was shocked how long the display can live w/o much change in the battery. The battery problems that I had afterward were the same as the ones I have been having all along, so it seems like I suffered no downside, but I have stopped using the hose when I wash the bike, now it's bucket and sponge for me.

Thanks for your helpful comment.Did'nt Dana comment you where would be the problem? I'd like to seal the exposed connector with silicone, plastic bags, or whatever

Re: HELP -Display permanently turned on

Try blowing compressed air into the key switch.

Re: HELP -Display permanently turned on

Thanks for the tip, x-vectrix. After 9 days of waiting, the bike is doing the same. We blowed air to the key switch and some connectors, but the problem persists. The Spanish dealer adviced us to wait a little further

Nice service to tell the customer to wait. Can't they test the connector or display. Maybe something shorted out and it just need replacement?

Well indeed, I asked them to find the cheapest way to solve the problem: Fortunately today the bike turned on correctly after reconnecting the battery. The wet, faulty connector must be dry by now, but they cannot tell me which one it was. This morning they did a full charge+ Eq and everything seemed OK.
I asked them to cover as many connectors as possible with plastic bags. Hope to ride the bike by the end of the week.

I'm really missing a main switch/circuit breaker/contactor, to disconnect the battery during this odd problems.
