New line of electric bicycles available in the U.S.

Just got a contact from Pete's E-Bikes about a new line of electric bicycles they're starting to import to the U.S. They're set up as the North America Distributors for the BH Emotion series of electric bicycles.

Press release: http://blog.greentransportation.info/2011/08/emotion-meets-function-quality-and-fun.html

The bikes are designed and built by a Spanish company, and the spec's are compatible with European electric bicycle laws. Motor power limited to 250 watts or so, for example.

The product line includes 26 bicycles in a variety of styles, and using four different drive trains. Two are "bottom bracket" designs where the electric motor drives the bottom bracket to take advantage of rear-wheel gearing, another is a front hub motor, the other is a rear hub motor.

Pricing isn't set yet but they're expecting prices in the $2500-5000 range. Note that some of the bikes have carbon-fiber frames.

They don't have the dealer network going, but the bikes can be seen in the Pete's store in Boulder CO.

They'll be unveiling the bikes at the Interbike show in a couple weeks.
