Adding a throttle

I have a Trek FX Ride Plus bike. Just for argument's sake, is there anyway to add a throttle control so I don't have to pedal?

Hi, i have bought a throttle for my G2 system (PL250) after connecting it the + and - works fine, but nothing happends when i press the red button. how do i activate the throttle button?
