Rubber twisting on throttle

Hi Guys,

The rubber on my throttle has started slipping, which is quite annoying. Obviously it does this on acceleration AND regen, as well as needing a regular extra grab on cruise as well. Does anyone have any idea about how to secure it? I have to grip it so hard to stop it slipping that my hand hurts after a while.

This is very dangerous!
Original Vectrix rubber deteriorates fast, replace the grips immediately!

Are they standard rubbers? How do you do it?

They're standard. Any motorbike shop have replacement rubbers.

Re: Rubber twisting on throttle

Or you could try the old hairspray trick
Spray some on the handlebars and slide the rubber back on.

How do you get them off? Slide OVER the chrome ends, or do you have to remove them? If so, how?

Remove the chrome ends. Just "unscrew" them.

I haven't worked out how to do that without potentially causing damage to the chrome. they seem quite tight. any tricks?

I tried this. It made the scooter just about unrideable! The rubber just twists without doing anything now! lol

Re: Rubber twisting on throttle

as it turns out, I worked out how to remove the handlebar weights and after letting the hair spray dry, the grip grips! I'll buy some new rubbers just the same. Thanks for the tips guys.
