How to modify a hex file?

Many people is modifying the hex files that program the vectrix. Very impressive task, and very useful tocustomize the vectrix. How can we modify them?

I can email you a copy of the source code

You will then need to compile it into a hex file

I can't remember what language the program is written in

Re: How to modify a hex file?

Its written in assembler which is simply one instruction per line.

Look for microchips mplab compiling software

http://www.microchip.com/stellent/idcplg?IdcService=SS_GET_PAGE&nodeId=1406&dDocName=en019469&part=SW007002

I haven't touched microchip programming for 5-6 yrs so i'm out of date but chat to the laird - he's simply a genius on this

I am not here to endorse or detract from Microchip controllers; but, the
only reason I have studied Microchip Pic's is because
they proliferate in my 2007 Vectrix....

hex files can be edited with hex editor, but you'll have to have some background knowledge of hex editing!
