For any of you with an old Emax, or its decendents (Kasea, Emoto?), I followed the procedures listed on this site for improving the scooter's performance. Specifically, I switched to lithium-ion batteries, upped the voltage to 60v, and upped the current to about 100 amps. Now the machine has good speed and acceleration and is much more useful, safe, and fun to ride. If you still have lead-acid batteries in one of these machines, I encourage you to give the modifications pioneered here (Visforvoltage) a try.

Can you post some pictures?
Have you got a blog?
Can you please provide some technical details? My Zem Star 45 scooter looks very like old Emax scooters, and is powered by a 1500W/60V motor and two 60V/24Ah lithium batteries.
Your emax?

No replies? :-(
Does anybody know where those procedures are?
Ever checked the Handbooks at the top of this page?
Maybe directly start here:

Just search back through the Emax section. If I recall, additional relevant posts can also be found in in the uncategorized part of "motorcycles and large scooters" too. The search engine here does not work so well, but if you go back to the period 2006 to 2008 you will find some stuff.
Note that Chinese scooters all come in just a few generic body styles, so the similar appearance to the old e-max may be mostly only on the outside.
Why E-max users so silence on forum ?
I heard that E-max buy thousands controllers from Sevcon 2 years before.
Why no one post new E-max on forum, and no one saw it on market ?
People only tend to show up on forums like this when they encounter a problem they can't solve on their own. Sevcon-equipped new E-maxes have certainly shown up in the German E-Scooter forum I also prowl, and they seem to be pretty trouble-free. But I expect nothing else from one of the pioneers of modern electric scooters, that after so many years of in part catastrophic failures (broken frames for instance...) they finally have a glitch-free package together!

Broken frames?
Here in Australia E-max is distributed by V-moto
The market for that size scooter here is very small, particularly at the $3500 they're selling for
I would hazard a guess that most of the sales have been in non-English speaking countries...

Yes, broken frames. There was a weak spot on the earlier of the current E-max models near the upper fixing point of the rear shock absorber. Not funny at all. It was fixed under warrantee and later models were reinforced in that area.

So you mean the "large" emax, not the original, small Emax Sport?
My china-scooter has a frame vwey similar to old emax, and its frame broke apart in the central lower part.
Yes, I mean the "large" one, like in this pic from their website:

Do you have any of the wiring information for the emax sport?
