Rear wheel bearing

Hello,

Since that my rear wheel tire was replaced, I noticed a strange noise when I reach 50 km/h.
I think that the bearing is damaged. I do not find information about it in the handbook.
Does somebody has already change it and know which model should we use ?

Isn't there a whole set of planetary gears you have to consider, too?

Re: Rear wheel bearing

Oley, two brief comments.

1- The bearing from amazon is not the same as the one in the photobucket picture
2- The noise you hear is quite common in old vectrixs. It is usually generated by the 3 planetary gears. Check all bearings inside.

Re: Rear wheel bearing

Be aware - my bike started making a whine at 70km after replacing the rear tyre.
I put the bike on our dyno at work and listened carefully around the rear and around the gearbox and i would report that it is the tyre making the noise in my case and not the gearbox

Secondly the sound has diminished now i have been using the bike for the past 10 months on that tyre.

Obviously gearbox bearings will wear and can be replaced (i currently have a set ready to go in - when i next take the bike off the road) but this is more proactive than a requirement.
