Hello,
I'm reaching out for help with the Scooter Diagnostics program. If someone would take pity on me and help with a very basic, step-by-step instructions on how to run this application I would very much appreciate it.
I have the program, and I have used it many times, but as a Mac user I'm baffled how the Windows programs tend to lose their association with the required components (drivers, etc.) - is it necessary to assemble all of the components together each time the program is run?
When I clicked on the scooterdiag.exe application today I got the error message that the libmysql.dll file was missing, so I found it and placed in the same folder with the .exe file.
Then the error message came: PCAN_USB.dll file is missing - so I found it and placed in the same folder with the .exe file.
So now I have these items all in the same folder:
But, now when I click on the .exe file I get this error message:
I think I'm cursed with an allergy to Windows...
How would you recommend to get this program to work?
Thanks!
Details: I'm running Windows 8.1 on my Mac using the Parallels program. This setup worked just a month ago when I installed the latest firmware modification from the Laird.
Hello oobflyer,
it's better that you copy all dll file on the windows/system32 directory.
And plug and pray.
If You keep using this scooterdiag with your Vectrix I asure you,ll finally brick it!
File assciations do not disapear. This happening due to some kind of data/registry corrruption.
I suggest you buy and old, cheap but robust laptop like IBM T61 or lenovo T500 and use the scooterdiag installer to install the program correctly in that laptop.
I finally got it working, but not without help. My son was in town and helped me. I don't know what I did wrong, but everything was on the hard drive - just not in the right folders. My son found the driver and moved it to the right folder and it worked. I connected to the Vectrix and installed the latest firmware (Thanks Laird!)
Thanks for your suggestions.
