I am about to complete the conversion to Leaf Cells, but I am unable to locate Laird HEX files for the Charger and Controller.
I have Scooter Diag installed etc and was hesitant using David Dugas firmware due to not using his software prior.
Does anyone have the LEAF files?
Failing that I am going to have to look at using the DavidDugas files.
First step is to DL Vectrix Diagnostic, this is the only version I could see;
http://service.vectrixparts.com/topics/5-vectrix-diagnostic-application/
This the latest/most suitable version?
I'm getting ready to pay a local EV bike shop to do the "EV Battery Center" Leaf battery conversion. Is there a complete set of instructions, including BMS and charger part numbers, that are idiot-proof? The labor quote I got was outrageous and I'm hoping to keep the labor part of the conversion to something reasonable.
And for those of y'all who wonder who I am, I used to post as "tallgirl", but I can't find my old password.
I have completed my 19 cell conversion, and it is an incredible conversion.
Like others, I do not run a BMS.
The conversion is well documented on Youtube (Ben Nelson) and very straight forward.
Here's a link to the 18 cell charger file https://www.dropbox.com/s/rb2lx9slvwxa5yp/Leaf19-38.zip?dl=0
Best of luck.
PM me... I have the files archived
2015 Tesla S90D
2009 Vectrix VX-1 Leaf Conversion
1983 Lambretta Lynx
1980 Vespa P200
2013 VW Jetta Hybrid (gone....)
All sorted.
Many thanks.
Hi,
When you drop the 19 cells into the Vectrix battery box are they all connected as one large module? On YouTube they only use 18 cells? Also did you have to compress the module a lot?
Best regards
Stephen
I have lots of firmware files uploaded to the files section of The Vectrix Club group on Facebook.I have some files, that I have no idea what they are!

Usually the the modules come bolted together by lengths of threaded rod going through the corners of the modules, often with steel end plates to add compression (this is how they are installed in the Leaf).

19 cells does drop in. As said, there are steel plates at either end and compressed with steel rods.
I used an electric winch as there is no a lot of space. The front of the 'pack' needs to drop down first and fill the void, followed by the rest of the pack.
The winch gave a lot more control.
have a glimpse at my conversion:

This is what I have been looking for, scoured the pages of this site. There isn't any docs as to who made this file, so it's pretty scary, but I am unable to find ANY reference to Laird's or Dugas' files on here so I am gonna cross my finger and pray
EDIT: OK, looks like someone did pray, as the update actually installed, and immediately after the two red telltale lights went out, and unlike the last 5 years when I plugged the bike into power it started charging (at 10 amps instead of 11 on the speedo) and didn't stop until I pulled the power as the sun had gone down and I'll have more solar tomorrow. Went from 133 volts on the pack I just built to 144 volts when I checked just now. I will have to play with it again tomorrow, cannot wait!!
