From a remote, unkown place somewhere in Europe, our friend M. send us this interesting upgrade with Samsung SDI modules.
Each modules is 12S 2kwh. There are 4S 2P modules totalling 16 kwh/48S. Superb job, really inspiring!
Hello, I have been riding a Vx-1 with a Samsung-SDI battery (36s1p, bought new in a BMW spares shop) for almost four years. It performs very well (I have several videos showing the perfect cells balance after a middle range ride, some 80km).
Although I bought 4 modules (94Ah), I was told that only 36 cells could be arranged in the box (disassembling cells out of modules was actually a nightmare since they are hot-glued together). My concern is about
the orientation of the cells in these pictures: in my battery they are placed with tabs up, while here I see tabs placed on the side, is it correct?
How much were the batts and where can we get them?!? Can the built in charger handle them?

The usual TC charger 3,3kw for Vectrix (with canbus translator) and original vectrix bms, with all 12 channels per board x4 wired and active
Hi,
do you mean that the convertion use the original Vectrix Lithium BMS ?
these modules are "second hand". You must find seller nearby. Good sart may be the european vectrix whastsapp group, PM if you want to join it
yes, original Vectrix BMS modified to use all 12 channels per board. Now there is alternative also. I'll make post about it
I like the use of the original welded tab cell modules.
That's heaps neater than my attempt with bare 94Ah SDI cells with bolt terminals:
Daily Ride:
2007 Vectrix, modified with 42 x Thundersky 60Ah in July 2010. Done 194'000km
I'll definitely send you an mp to join that group, thans
Hi R,
Could you provide datasheet to this cell ? Are you voltage and current load to Samsung SGI cell (178wh) ?
regards
