Hi PJD,
With regard to #1 - most states don't require working pedals anymore.
With regard to #2 - we're still researching the possibilities of various speed restrictions and their acceptability.
The term "moped" is used to denote a classification of bike - if the Vespa, Honda Elite or Honda Metropolitan have less than 50cc and meet the other requirements then the State calls them a "moped".

But you're right - I might just drop the term "moped" from a marketing perspective.

Sorry, I still need to update the website. X-Treme are now quoting May 15th (which sucks because I leave for the UK on the 17th).
The bikes are en-route - the delay was apparently due to being held up in Chinese customs.

What that kind of battery warranty, I would expect them to be using a BMS. I was seriously thinking of an E-Fun D, but now I'm not so sure. My bet on price is $3,500 - 4,000 USD.
